Kara's powers aren't what make her Kryptonian.

Kara being Kryptonian is why she has powers.

Powers or not, Kara's an alien. Not just a human with great abilities.

And technically Clark's the same, but he's more human than she'll ever be.

has been a bartender at the alien bar

sprung a sudden attack on a superhero

was told by that very hero that they would be helped and supported

pretended to be something they weren’t and lied about their identity so as not to isolate their superhero from them

used their abilities in violent/aggressive ways against other aliens and was even confronted by Supergirl while doing it

was a part of a culture that did terrible things to others that they saw as inferior

disavowed that culture after realizing that it was wrong

confronted someone from their past who still believed their culture was superior

chose to support their hero with conviction when facing that person from their past

didn’t see themselves as someone worthy until meeting their superhero

experienced a specific traumatic event that set them on a path to being a better person

acknowledged their past actions and dedicated themselves to changing

Now.

Am I describing Mon-El or am I describing M’gann M’orzz?

Because they were both a part of something terrible. But they’re also both worthy of forgiveness and a second chance. People learn. People change. If someone can admit that they were wrong and they truly want to be better, than they deserve that chance.
