SG Tarantulas?
Tarantulas and his evil pink test tube baby
I've had several plot ideas for SG versions of Beast Wars and Beast Machines, but aside from at least half of them not having beast mode color schemes yet, let alone bot mode ones.
I still don't have personality ideas for all of them either. Imo they should be as opposite as possible while still making sense in-universe.
So far i have:
SG Inferno is very anti-authority, maybe even a punk or an anarchist. He often butts heads with Megatron, and if he thinks his plan is better than what the others are currently doing, he'll put it into action which obviously creates problems. He's pissed that the Maximal elders tried to control him with programming (which Tarantulas removed before the protoform activated).
SG Tarantulas is a calm, gentle team mom.
SG Transmutate is very distrusting and defensive when she joins the Predacons, since the Maximals openly wanted to kill her (though Transmutate eventually opens up to the Predacons). She's also often frustrated with how she has a hard time with things that are clearly easy for the others.
SG Silverbolt is a vicious sadist who openly views himself as evil and revels in it, fights dirty, is down for basically anything, and creeps on Blackarachnia (and when Primal does like baseline Megatron in Beast Machines, Silverbolt voluntarily becomes a drone commander to get the brainwashed Blackarachnia for himself).
you know how some spider babies eat their own mothers?
something like that with sg springer and sg tarantulas.
There's a sad evil scene there, considering everything
Is this anything?
What would be your take on a Shattered Glass Beast Wars/Machines?
Because unfortunately there's not much traction for that concept.
OUGHHHH I LOVE THINKING ABOUT SHATTERED GLASS BEAST WARS
There's so many directions one can go there, but I think a corruption arc for SG Dinobot could be so so fun (though... One can argue for a good spy arc)
The interactions between SG Optimus Primal and SG Megatron could be fucking golden in a more isolated setting like this with with the environmental energon poisoning (I think we can make such a thing about the beast wars energon poisoning affecting both the maximals & predacons and the organic fauna & flora, especially considering how in some continuities energon is toxic for organics) (but that's besides the point)
I think the SG predacons' dynamics could be so fun, especially with the slow introduction of characters throughout the series (I think there's an especially fun one one can make with SG Tarantulas and Blackarachnia... Especially considering the spy element to Tarantulas)
Results vary based on whether you follow the "everyone is opposite" route or "the good guys if they were bad and the bad guys if they were good" route
I think a SG version of beast wars/machines Megatron could be genuinely so compelling, especially as shit starts to ramp up
(DOES THIS MEAN SG RHINOX/TANKOR GETS A REDEMPTION ARC???)
Actually wait have you considered SG Prowl x SG Mesothulas/Tarantulas for the sex though
I mean knowing Tara even in shattered glass he’d be happy that his baby Ostaros ate him to get the nutrients he needs to survive
Oh absolutely, perhaps even especially in shattered glass!!
Maybe SG BW Tarantulas was a civilian who the Predacon Secret Police recruits to infiltrate Cryotek's revolutionary group, because they believe (correctly) that if Cryotek did something, the Maximals' reprisals against the Predacons would make their conditions even worse and propably get people killed, and that it's better to keep the status quo than take the risk of resisting? And Tarantulas is sufficiently convinced to do it because he doesn't want anybody to get hurt, but after a while in the group Tarantulas would be brought into the plan to steal a transwarp ship (they're all under Maximal control) and go back in time to change the outcome of the Great War so the Autobots lose and the Maximals never come into power. He would decide that preventing a dystopia and deaths of millions even if it's risky was better than the Predacon government's trying to keep the status quo to "protect" them from further oppression, and so decides to not tell the PSP about the plan? But also doesn't dare to come clean about the infiltration to the rebels? The PSP can't get at him for his treason if he goes back in time before it existed, right?
Of course, sooner or later his friends will learn that he originally joined them as a PSP spy, propably when somebody else working for it somehow shows up...
(What if Cryotek had known or suspected, and tested him? But Cryotek doesn't tell the crew, and dies during the heist?)
