pov: the fragmentation au decepticons and sg fragmentation au autobots meet
I've had several plot ideas for SG versions of Beast Wars and Beast Machines, but aside from at least half of them not having beast mode color schemes yet, let alone bot mode ones.
I still don't have personality ideas for all of them either. Imo they should be as opposite as possible while still making sense in-universe.
So far i have:
SG Inferno is very anti-authority, maybe even a punk or an anarchist. He often butts heads with Megatron, and if he thinks his plan is better than what the others are currently doing, he'll put it into action which obviously creates problems. He's pissed that the Maximal elders tried to control him with programming (which Tarantulas removed before the protoform activated).
SG Tarantulas is a calm, gentle team mom.
SG Transmutate is very distrusting and defensive when she joins the Predacons, since the Maximals openly wanted to kill her (though Transmutate eventually opens up to the Predacons). She's also often frustrated with how she has a hard time with things that are clearly easy for the others.
SG Silverbolt is a vicious sadist who openly views himself as evil and revels in it, fights dirty, is down for basically anything, and creeps on Blackarachnia (and when Primal does like baseline Megatron in Beast Machines, Silverbolt voluntarily becomes a drone commander to get the brainwashed Blackarachnia for himself).
SG Beast Wars: Not sure what to do to distinguish bots' altmodes from the baseline.
Last i checked the dinosaur colors are basically speculation, so anything goes (within reason). I could make Rattrap black, white, or brown instead of grey. Tigatron could be a regular tiger instead of white tiger. Optimus Primal could be a melanistic white gorilla. Depth Charge could be black and white like a normal manta ray. Airazor's altmode species is vague, but she could be a white morph gyrfalcon (while baseline Airazor is brown morph)?
But what the shit am i going to do with Cheetor, Rhinox, and Silverbolt?
We know a few (a few) dinosaur colors with more accuracy than others (see: sinosauropteryx, pscittasaurus, and Anchiornis), but I mean as far as I think SG Megatron: tyrannosaurus edition goes I think it would be immensely pretty if he was countershaded dark grays and light grays (maybe with his baseline canon marbling/striping!) But that's just an idea. You can also model him off of the Jurassic Park Green morph as I think that'd be pretty or the rusty reddish browns like the prehistoric planet tyrannosaurus!
Now for Rhinox we can take a look at other types of rhinoceros as I think he's based on the white rhino, maybe the reddish of the sumatran rhino or the darker gray of the black rhino! (... Probably. He's probably based on the white rhino. Eyeballing it here)
With cheetor that's difficult because cheetahs look fairly similar because their inbred as all fuck, but I've considered leuistic cheetor before (he could also have coloration more based on the swirly king cheetah morph/subspecies?) (The king cheetah coloration is probably our best bet)
Silverbolt... Is sure as hell a creature alright. Staring at his altmode I'm tempted to suggest changing his golds to silvers and his grays to reddish or brownish (or you can go for the white wolf color morph, that's an option) (the red wolf species/subspecies is super pretty imo, and they're also massively critically endangered beyond belief endangered)
There are so many gorgeous options for Dinobot, too many for me to sit down and think about unlike Megatron
But hey! That's all ideas!
crack out of context but kinda sad in context tinted lenses short. tf sg tinted lenses au.
i honestly don't know how this being an SG universe factors into the scene other than some minor details, but for the sake of consistency of this belonging to an SG AU I will tag it as such.
tl;dr slingshot gets slingshotted into a reunion group hug.
---
"Go talk to them."
"What?" Slingshot frowned at the sudden comment by his former commander - and brother, as much as he was still not used to the fact.
Silverbolt vaguely gestured towards the trio of jets - the rest of his family, still huddled together and talking with each other - and continued. "We've had this conversation before, go talk to them."
"I..." With memories of their last conversations flashing in his processor, Slingshot suddenly felt unsure. They didn't leave on good terms after all, what if him showing up again just made things worse?
Slingshot took a few steps back, getting ready to turn around at any moment.
In response, Silverbolt gave out a light disapproving sigh. "You told me you missed them."
And then proceeded to pick him up.
"Wait, what are you-"
Slingshot hadn't finished his sentence before both his pedes left the ground and he started flailing about in shock.
"Let- me-"
Then he felt himself flying through the air. In root mode.
"GOOOOOOOOOOO-"
And crashed into the ground right in front of his brothers whom he had not talked to in a long time. Falling face-first onto the floor.
"Bolt, what the..." Slingshot sat up while rubbing his faceplates in stunned embarrassment, still not processing that the always loyal, hardworking and most importantly serious Silverbolt threw him across the room.
"SLINGSHOT!" Fireflight immediately knelt down and wrapped his arms around Slingshot, wings fluttering in excitement, nearly knocking him over. Slingshot was extremely confused by his enthusiasm - their last encounter ended in a shouting match after all. But before he could process that he was nearly knocked over again.
"DUDE! DUDE!" That lively and energetic voice - one that hasn't sounded that happy for a long time - was unmistakably Air Raid's. "HOLY SHIT YOU'RE ALIVE I AM SO GLAD!"
Still stunned at the fact that the two were happy at his presence, Slingshot looked towards Skydive, who was still standing to the side, and looked just as shocked as he was. Slingshot's ember still hummed nervously, not sure how the former felt about him after accusing him of only caring for himself despite everything he did to keep them safe.
Then Skydive chuckled, proceeded to tackle the three of them, and all four jets crashed onto a ground in a cuddle pile.
Either this is some bizarre dream, they were also just as much in shock as he is, or... his brothers didn't hate him as much as he thought?
They've laid there for a while, just taking in the fact that they're back together.
Beyond the Imperium's ever watchful eye, beyond their guardian's critical gaze, beyond the war that could take their lives in any second. Just a group of mechs, born bound to each other's embers, basking in the relief of reunion.
"Gosh, where have you been?
"Well..." The brief shock and joy gave way to the reality that Slingshot needed to explain himself and what happened in the interim when they were separated, which he was admittedly not good at.
Good thing there's someone else who's better at that than him.
Slingshot sat up and looked back at the other side of the room in search of the mech who can cover the whole story better than himself.
Silverbolt was nowhere to be seen.
thought of doing some intros for the components of the fragmentation AUs but the baseline ones are pretty close to their canon description so im shifting gears to the sg one
introducing the SG Aerialbots of the Fragmentation AU! this SG runs on 'pretty much opposite of baseline' and thinking about some of them make me snicker just by how weird they are.
sg silverbolt: treacherous for funsies. sabotages and even attempted to kill the other combiners in the base just because he finds it fun and likes the challenge. tried shooting defensor once and got locked in a jar for weeks. dunno if he has reached starscream level of comically absurd treachery, but he's at the very least getting there. pretty much lives in the brig/prison of the base because he is that big of a nuisance.
sg skydive: the only reason he would ever pick up a book is to throw it at someone. has no patience to try to plan out his actions and usually brute forces his way through every problem and battle even when it results in a lot of mechs getting hurt. unironically thinks that his usual tactics are pretty good even when it usually doesn't work. everyone else sees him as an idiot. he has no self awareness.
sg air raid: a coward that needs to be dragged to duty due to his strong fear of death. fights only because he is told to and is extremely stressed the whole time. when not on duty he hides inside his room, and considering how he was maimed or got caught in the crossfire of several fights within the base, his fear is not exactly unfounded.
sg slingshot: somewhat of a suck up people(?) pleaser, but considering the characters that are the sg autobots, he's doing so out of a strong sense of self preservation and ensuring that he himself is at least useful enough to not be scrapped given how unhinged some of his compatriots are. tries to convince his brothers to not do stupid things that might get them punished. has not succeeded once.
sg fireflight: a normal guy. so normal that he's just boring. treats the war with the same energy as the average person on a nine to five retail shift. has not reached baseline dead end's level of nihilistic apathy but generally does not care much about the war or anything happening around him. he's just going through the motions of your average war crimes.
this is a vent piece written at a time when I really, REALLY have more important things to do, but by god i need to express some sort of feelings somehow.
Tinted Lenses AU. An SG universe. featuring silverbolt and slingshot after desertion. and their really bad self loathing due to different reasons. when i'm sad i like to use characters like stress balls and they are my chosen victims of the day.
not the best written piece but i needed to write something and this is the result.

"... You should go back."
"What?" Slingshot frowned at Silverbolt's abrupt comment that broke the silence.
"To your brothers." Silverbolt continued, his tone almost impassive compared to the stirring maelstrom inside his mind. "They hate me and would be glad to see me dead, but they do care about you. I'm the emberlass lackey of the Imperium, but you are still one of them. Family shouldn't be separated."
Silverbolt shook his helm at the last statement, thinking of his old friend and how he united with his brothers and how happy he must had been. He doesn't have that luxury.
Slingshot tensed up at this comment as flashes of the past raced through his processor, clenching his servos. He would have been more angry and spiteful and snapped back at his former commander if it were not for the growing fatigue encroaching upon the back of his processor. Oh how little he knew about their lives before the war... well, not that any of them ever told him.
"Nah, not like they need me anyways... Since the fragging beginning I was the extra. Everyone else had someone else to care about them, and then there's fragging Slingshot. The stupid one. The afthole. The one that will never get anywhere in life. They're all so wonderful talented and exceptional and then there's me. Honestly? They'd be better off without the both of us."
[sg fragmentation au lore bites]
the dynamics of the sg bot leader trio (sg silverbolt, sg hot spot and sg scattershot) are basically that one scene in the g1 cartoon in which starscream and skywarp fight in the elevator while thundercracker awkwardly stands aside but the former trio can be slotted into any position of the latter and it will make sense regardless
i genuinely want to draw a relationship diagram for these guys but tldr they all hate each other
WIP for a short on tf sg tinted lenses au. aka me going 'how screwed can i make sg silverbolt act feat. sg motors)
they have. a history. that i'll get into.
