I got my first glimpse of the new 2019 #Gibson lineup at @lmbloor, #Toronto, and I am so encouraged by what I saw. After several years of disappointment with new #GibsonUSA products...things are looking up! First, I’d just like to say THANK YOU Gibson for making a real #SGSpecial and Junior again (swipe left for a shot of the Junior). I don’t know if they are calling these models the “Special” and the “Junior”, or even referring to them as “reissues”, but that’s what they are...they are basically reissues of the Special and Junior models from the 60s. . And I, for one, could not be happier about this! As you may know, I’m a huge fan of SG Specials and Juniors, and Gibson has never really had an authentic version of either in its line. OK, the #SGClassic from ~10 years ago came pretty close to a Special and was a fine guitar (in fact, the 2008 SG Classic I owned was responsible for starting my obsession with vintage Specials in the first place!), and they did make a Junior in the early 2000s, but the knobs were positioned weirdly and it threw off the whole look of the thing. And yes, they did make a more authentic facsimile of the #SGJunior last year, but it looked weird with the script headstock logo (because that logo is normally seen on 1930s flattops not 1960s Juniors!). This year they have changed it to the authentic logo, and it looks SO MUCH better. PS: I nearly impulse bought this #PelhamBlue Special...but remembered in the nick of time that I don’t actually have any money! 😆 #gibsunday #guitar #guitars #guitarra #chitarra #guitarre #electricguitar #gibsonusa #reissue #gibsonguitars #tone #guitargear #guitarsdaily #guitarsofinstagram #geartalk #guitargear #vintagegear #guitarsdaily #gibsonsofinstagram #guitarphotography (at Long & McQuade (Toronto)) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxXF2h6BUKx/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1vifsd5hfgk0c
