“The ‘now what’ question is a continual challenge, not a static endpoint. It means to open up creativity, exploration, ongoing efforts from multiple places. To do all that, we have to keep reading, keep listening, keep reflecting, keep learning.”
Teo You Yenn, This is What Inequality Looks Like
when these things change
the moment i heard the news
my heart sank and never stopped sinking
the day had come
for you to leave this world
i begged time to stand still
for a just little longer
one more second
i cried
that’s all i need
but time
it stayed true to it’s word
the hands of the clock
on that pale hospital wall
continued to tick furiously
because time waits for no one
the living
nor the dead
Alvin Pang; what i want to share
This breathing, air bartered between us so you pull me to your bosom and I cannot refuse. So I taste you by being simply alive.
This longing, the pull of flesh over flesh to cover our bareness of soul. The distance we endure. The seas we brave to reach each other.
Here is skin you may bruise with wanting or rage. And here are my hands, their cracks and fissures unfolding a life none of us can change.
These fingers, the things they have touched. Let one of these things be you. Let me return your name to the one who had most forgotten.
