Existing as an LGBT person is so exhausting because your very audacity to exist as you are is constantly seen as political and as much as I appreciate those posts about how being a wlw is revolutionary and makes a statement sometimes I wish I could just be alive and have that not be a fucking political statement

If I criticize makeup I inevitably get hit with comments like “you’re just mad because you can’t wing your eyeliner 💁‍♀️💅” and you know what? They’re absolutely right that I don’t know how to wing eyeliner because I never took the time to learn because my mother raised me knowing that time and energy spent on painting my face and hiding perceived flaws was time and energy wasted and I’m genuinely sorry for women who didn’t receive that message growing up
