Today's siren of the day is the 500 SH-TT by FEDERAL SIGNAL
ALRIGHT good evening yall! Today's siren is one of the sirens which are infamously known in California. You saw me reblog posts with the sirens in pointing at them so you know what we're getting into. So we all know amongst all these lamp posts, power lines and flashy billboards you may come across a silent reminder of the cold war. All over los Angeles you may come across a siren which hasn't sounded since the 80s. One of these is the 500 sh-tt! Firstly built in the 1950s by Federal signal it simply was to serve its purpose as an air raid siren. And as a cheaper option to the famous Thunderbolt 1000. The production of the 500 was discontinued in the 1980s. Yet they are still standing around.. Ominously.
