Religiously and morally speaking, pro lifers support killing babies more than pro choicers.

Totally serious here. See, I was raised Catholic, I was baptized, got my first communion, and was confirmed, the whole shebang. I also studied Old English in college. And no, Old English is not Shakespeare, he was modern English. Old English is a different language.

Both of those things are important to how I came to my conclusion. See, biblically, the heart beat was never the thing that determined a baby’s life. Of course not, they didn’t have fucking ultrasound machines back then, it took forever to confirm pregnancy. Miscarriages and stillbirths were also super fucking common. According to the Bible, life doesn’t begin until first breath, but the crux of living, the thing that separates humans from animals and proves our humanity and our status as God’s favorite wasn’t the heart or the lungs. It’s the soul. Our souls are what make us human.

When studying old English, we had to translate a description written by a monk about the process of a baby being formed in the womb. And yeah, they also said the heart grows first, because it’s a pump not some magical bean that gives sentience. It’s the thing that keeps the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-flailing Tubeman flailing, but it isn’t the entirety of the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-flailing Tubeman.

But the SOUL doesn’t enter the body until the 9th month right before birth. Again, stillbirth and miscarriage are very real things that happen and were not uncommon at that time.

So, let us consider the late term abortion Pro lifers are especially upset about. LTAs are RARE. They only happen if the baby and/or mother is at serious risk. They are not a fun time, but they still are performed BEFORE the soul enters the body. Because contrary to what morons in Washington believe, an abortion cannot be completed up to the delivery date. So if the LTA is performed, the fetus doesn’t have a soul, and is therefore not yet a person.

But by demanding women give birth to babies who will not survive, the pro lifer is forcing a soul to enter a doomed body and forcing them to die before they had the chance to live. That soul could have lived a long, loving life surrounded by friends and family, and instead they spend what little time on this earth they are given only ever knowing pain and suffering.

That soul could grow up to be the person who invents time travel. Or perfects a battery that doesn’t require precious materials. They could grow up to write poetry that brings even the most cynical person to tears. Instead, their life ends minutes after it begins and any potential they could have had is snuffed out for good. And if you are Catholic and believe LTA is bad, then you should ABSOLUTELY know better. I have an uncle who was buried in an unmarked grave only his mother knew the location of because he died before he was baptized, and for centuries, that was the standard practice for babies who died right after being born. Because they died before being washed of original sin, those babies like my uncle, were believed to be barred from heaven itself. And if you think women should be forced to carry to term a baby they know will die minutes or hours after birth, as a Catholic, if you can’t recognize that your discomfort could lead to millions of babies denied their place in the kingdom of God, you’re doing Catholicism wrong.

Morally speaking, forcing a human baby to only know suffering for its entire life when all of that could have been avoided sounds more like advocating for baby killing than preventing that pain in the first place.

Pro life is Pro Baby Killing.

The lady nods and wraps the present, adding a pretty silver band, and a note where they can write the two and from on it. Putting it into a bag as the payment goes through, she smiles, and takes out the receipt handing it to him, alongside the bag with the package .

“There, I figured it would be safer to have the receipt hidden in a pocket in case you meet the recipient.” “Daddy's present!” “Yes, thank you. Do you want to write a pretty message for daddy, my star? We need to either do it before we go meet daddy, or sneakily do it later tonight.” “I can drrraw! You wrrrite.”

They grin widely, the lady handing them a pen so they can draw and write what they want on the card. Fannar drew two small dragons and three hearts between them, then showing it to his mommy. A soft smile spreading on Vy’s face as he sees the little ones drawing. 

“I think that speaks for itself, my star. There’s just a little thing missing there.”

He draws between them a little star and above them another one.

“Our little stars are always part of everything. We can go now. We have daddy’s gift. Let’s go. Thank you, miss.”

He bows his head at the lady and taking the gifts he walks out, taking his baby star with him.

“Are you excited for your first Christmas? Mommy loves Christmas.”

River kisses Rylan gently, wrapping his arm around him. 

“I'd love cake. What flavor do you want? Caramel? Or Chocolate? Or maybe both?” “Oh I am going to say both, I am going all out today.”

He smiles, leaning against River closing his eyes, loving this day so much he wishes he could stop time and just be here for a while, on a good day, with his family and his love. 

“It's allowed every now and then yes?” “Both is good” 

River smiles, doing his best impression of Miguel
