Flowers
When I was little, we lived in a house across the yard from my paternal grandparents and under the big live oak in their front yard, grew little pink flowers. They’re a type of oxalis, I know now. But then, they were just banks of these tiny pink flowers for months, unless they got a freeze. I never saw them in any other place we lived, until I started dating my sigoth and at his folk’s house, they had the same little pink flowers in their front yard. The very first flowers I planted in the house we bought after we got married were the little bulbs of oxalis his mama dug up for me. There’s another type, similar but not quite the same, that are native locally, but they aren’t quite as delicate
