It’s hard to believe that I created not 1 but 2 AU’s this year.
Shadow Adventures is almost a year old and is on it’s 4th story. to think I wrote all these this year...
Shadow Adventure 2, Shadow Heroes, Sonic the Hedgehog: Day of Reckoning, and Shadow 06
Not to mention that in February I began Tides of Chaos and that it would become something I am truly proud of. and the fact that I finished it within the same year with 40 chapters is... a lot to process.
This has been a really stressful year for me but knowing I had this community and that my stories gave others an escape out of this dumpster fire of a year brings me so much joy.
Thank you all again and don’t worry, I may be taking a little break from writing but rest assured.

Sonic felt incredibly uncomfortable following Shadow into the Graveyard within Station Square. Shadow had come to Club Rouge early in the morning asking for Sonic to join him on a walk. Sonic agreed but quickly realized something was wrong. Shadow’s mood was extremely solemn and silent… More so than usual.
And now they were in a graveyard. It was subtly blanketed in a morning fog as the sun was starting to warm the ground. “Sh…Shadow? What are we doing here?” Sonic asked with ears pinned back debating if he should just tell him he’s going home.
“Sorry I… It’s hard to articulate today…” Shadow said continuing to walk.
“What’s different about today?” Sonic asked. Part of him still wanted to leave but his curiosity wanted to know why Shadow looked so upset.
He finally came to a stop… Sonic stopped next to him waiting for Shadow to explain. “Today’s the day she…” Sonic finally notices Shadow had turned towards a tombstone. Following his gaze Sonic’s eyes widen seeing the name engraved.
Here lies Maria Robotnik.
Sonic’s eyes widen seeing the name. Maria, the one who was kind to him in the memories he had recovered. Shadow had told him she was killed saving Shadow from G.U.N. all those years ago. “I thought you’d like to know where she’s buried…”
It was not hard to see that Shadow looked grief stricken staring at the grave. Sonic wished he remembered her better to understand the pain Shadow was going through… But for now… He could be here for Shadow.
Sonic steps closer slowly reaching over taking Shadow’s hand into his, interlocking their fingers. Feeling Shadow lightly squeeze Sonic’s hand with a sigh. “Thank you…”
“Don’t mention it bud. We can stay here for as long as you need.” Sonic said as Shadow finally turned away from the tombstone.
“Can I… tell you about her?” Shadow asked sheepishly but Sonic only softly smiles.
Shadow comes across a place he had forgotten about...
Sonic and Shadow raced through Station square into the late evening. The sun had fully set, and the lights of the city illuminated their path. Shadow had glanced over towards Sonic as they were neck in neck. Both trying to get ahead of the other.
A sense of familiarity washes over Shadow as they pass by a parking lot. Memories of a mech piloted by G.U.N. in a pursuit to apprehend him. That was almost 2 years ago…
He comes to a halt as he remembers back to that night. Pulling the pilot out of the craft before destroying the mech. Discovering a certain blue Hedgehog was the real culprit and that he could use Chaos Control was life changing.
“Shads?” He turns towards Sonic who had noticed he stopped and came back to check on him. “Everything alright?”
Shadow smiles at his partner knowing he couldn’t yet remember the fleeting moment they had shared here. “Just had a spurt of deja’vu.” Shadow said gesturing Sonic away from the spot. “C’mon, let’s go get something to eat.”
We did it! The final prompt for Sonadowtober is complete!
“What do you think of my costume?” Tails asked showing off his white hooded cloak. There were black jagged teeth around the line of the hood and a pair of multi colored eyes. The edges of the cloak were torn and wispy.
“Nice Boo costume!” Sonic praised, he had to admit Tails’ costume looked really comfortable.
“What are you supposed to be?” Tails asked as Sonic begins to show off his black cloak with red lining.
“I’m a vampire.” Sonic said noticing that Tails was starting to hide a smirk. “What? Is it bad?”
“No, No!” He exclaimed though his smile began to widen betraying his words. “It’s… something else!”
Sonic narrowed his eyes at the fox for a moment. “Where’s Shadow? Is he still getting ready?”
“No, I’m all set.” He hears Shadow said turning around to see his costume eyes widening seeing Shadow wearing a purple accented dress shirt with purple cape and matching boot covers. Wearing a top hat and white lightning eyeshadow that extends up into his quills.
Sonic lets out a whistle that takes Shadow off guard for a moment. “Looks like great minds think alike.” Sonic said as Shadow smiles at him, “Really like the costume.”
“I like yours as well.” Shadow said walking up to him. “You look good enough to eat.” He kisses Sonic before he could say anything else. Making the quick tongued speedster speechless was always a treat.
“Hurry up you two we’re going to be late.” Tails’ namesakes flicked impatiently before Shadow turns to his brother with a smile.
“Right, Amy would be upset if we missed the Halloween party,” Shadow said looking back at Sonic who was trying to regain his wits. “You ready?” Shadow gave Sonic a teasing grin making the blue hedgehogs face go red before finally composing himself. “Are Rouge and Omega joining us?”
“Yeah, Rouge is helping Omega into their costume. It took forever to find a pumpkin large enough.” He chuckles as they make their way out the door for a festive evening.
Shadow Adventure is gold. I love that you edit the dialogues, and also that you use lines from the stages too! Very creative!
Shadow seems secretive about his relationship with Sonic, I didn't expect that tbh... Since the rating is Teen and we don't get many details, would you mind sharing what their relationship is like at this point? Are some things behind the scenes? For example, is it a full-on sexual relationship, or something more serious? Or are they still simply dating whenever they can? I am not sure what's going on behind the scenes
Seeing Mephilles as Sonic's shadow from now on is going to epic! Great stuff!
I'm so happy you are enjoying the story!!! So 06 happens a few months if not a year after Reckoning. I'd say they are still in the more subtle stages of a relationship (as an ace I'm not great at know relationship stages)
It's definitely a serious relationship. They both care w lot about the other. So no friends with benefits kinda situation. ( That's as far as I'll get in detail wise because they be minors and what they do is their private business)
