Witchy advice for shadow magic (because yes, it’s a thing and we need to talk about it)

Shadow magic: magic related to working with natural darkness (night spells) but also energy and things from the “dark matter”. It is known as the base for “black witchcraft” and cursing/casting damage or “evil” things. The truth is the learning of shadow magic can be helpful in certain circumstances and to know more about the dangerous places for energy.

Nowadays some baby witches had try to use shadow magic to “invoke” stuff that cannot be invoked like that like living beings (I’m talking to you, k-popers) and instead calling energies and entities from the dark matter and probably tulpas (I highly recommend you NEVER CREATE TULPAS on purpose). So today I’m giving you some advice for shadow magic to make it safe for yourself and others around you:

👻 As I said before, you cannot cast living beings with shadow magic, for they exist in our same space and time. The single idea of casting someone who’s alive by this method isn’t just stupid, but dangerous, since some less nice energies can simply pretend they’re the one you’re “casting” and damage you.

👻 Shadow energy can help you when you need to get some rest but also to increase your mental and spiritual skills. But after even starting to make a ritual around it, you must (repeat, MUST) shield yourself in order to avoid unkind identities trying to use you as a battery or a bound to this world.

👻 Some easy ways to shield yourself in shadow magic includes candles (white or black), salt, copal scent and a glass of water. Always remember to explain what you want to do in the shadow magic, making emphasis on you not inviting energy or entities that has twisted intentions. 👻 Sometimes you may like to try the casting of certain creatures, just by curiosity or because you want to use them for revenge or something like that. PLEASE DON’T DO IT. The cause-effect law applies in magic too and it may end exploding on your face.

👻 When talking to an entity from the dark matter you must be careful but direct. Tell them you don’t want them to be there or doing certain things, but never talk to them with supremacy nor submission or they’ll take that as advantage against you. 

👻 Is not unusual some entities chases you since they feed on the shadow energy (not only “negative” energy like sadness or rage, every feeling we keep in secret belongs to this kind of energy, it’s like The Moon card from the tarot, it can be useful or dangerous). If you want them to go away tell them to do it and protect yourself with a talisman (you can use any material I mentioned above).

  👻 And last but not least, never mix shadow magic with things like graveyard energy, and much less with fae energy or you’ll have a very bad time.

Shadow qualities are met with intense criticism and judgement as they are projected onto others. The presence of this judgment is our clue to the shadow as a rejected self. If sexuality is a rejected self, then overt sexuality in others will produce a highly charged negative reaction (much like what we see in some religious sects fixated on the sexual behavior of others). If anger is a rejected self, we will fear and criticize it in others. If we suppress our emotions, we will have little tolerance for those who are needy, crying, or strongly expressive. It makes us very uncomfortable to be around someone expressing our shadow energies. Our judgment is an attempt to negate the source of our discomfort.
