Who is Dollie?
Dollie is the nickname I have given Shadow Loba, or the Loba that exists in Shadow Rev's universe. Because 'girlie' plus 'doll' is 'dollie'. Why doll? Because of this skin, Victorian Vixen:
It debuted during the original Apex Halloween event and was retired in 2022, making it one of the few Loba skins that is no longer available in game. She's clearly dead/undead in this skin, sporting clouded eyes. Her skin is shattered like she was made into a porcelian doll and subsequently broken. However, she's still clearly wearing her usual outfit, if not embellished and made more ornate. The most curious part of this skin to me aren't those details so much as one key change: Her boots. They were given Mary Jane details to emphasize the doll-like nature of this skin.
This dropped the same time that Shadow Rev and his entire universe was introduced. Cut to playing through the Shadows game mode, and as our Loba you get to hear Shadow Rev thank her for being the ultimate key to his ascent in his universe. Meaning, whatever version of her exists in his universe was the reason why he is now a God-King. (Post-Kill Code we get a better idea of how exactly this happens since Loba basically dragged out killing him and missed her chance)
While it very likely happened under a different set of circumstances, it's canon that in another universe, Loba allows Rev to overthrow the Syndicate. However, unlike our Rev who has stated his lack of interest in ruling over others, Shadow Rev jumped at the opportunity. Maybe more self-aggrandizing than ours, Shadow Revenant basks in his power and wielding it over others, creating a whole army of Shadows. However, unlike the other Legends, he reveres Loba for her role in his coming to power.
This is Loba's Bad Ending.
Not only does he not just make her a Shadow, he makes her into a doll (sim, what have you). A trophy, in the very same way we know our Loba does to him and parts of him. Not only has Shadow Revenant coveted Shadow Loba, he's dressed her up to establish their dynamic. That's why you see her broken but whole in the Victorian Vixen skin, why she's undead but ornate. Which in and of itself is something. Then there are those boots.
In his twisted way, it's how he shows his reverence for her. And in return, it's likely that her psyche is so broken down in the wake of complete defeat that the ways in which he expresses warmth to her are welcome.
He's become everything to her.
He is her dom (maybe even the Big to her Little). It's how Shadow Revenant could so confidently call our Loba a 'good girl', because he knows there's a side of her that responds to it. A side he's seen and encouraged, in Shadow Loba.
And that's why I call her 'Dollie'.
