"Bliss. Danvers," I answered quietly, giving my cover last name. Like I would ever give my real last name to anyone.
I was taken to the hospital and spent the next hour, getting bullets dug out of my body, and temporarily became a pin cushion as I was stitched up and given meds. I sat there quietly waiting for the cop to come get my statement.
Danvers, Cal noted mentally, nodding to the woman. "Get yourself better and I'll be there as soon as I can be." Watching the ambulance speed off, she breathed a sigh of relief. Bliss Danvers would be fine now.
Getting back into the patrol car, Cal headed to the hospital to wait, the other officers on the scene having things under control there now. As soon as Bliss was out, and she'd been told that she was well enough to speak to her, Cal went into the room.
"Some luck you had back there," Cal commented, trying to be friendly. "Doctors say you'll be right as rain in no time." She smiled. "How do you feel?"
unExpected Train Stop // Cato and Blix
"Seems like we’re gonna be stuck on this train for an extra three hours," Cato said, glancing at the woman sitting next to him. He'd known the unexpected breakdown was coming (particular loose pieces, the rattling noises, statistically led to one thing), it just didn't matter, not today. He'd take a nap, and have an excuse for being late to work. The previous night he'd been out late, hunting down criminals. He could use the extra shut-eye.

"The job doesn’t bother me honey, your attitude, however does. I’ll take the job, so long as you don’t get in my way. Nor piss me off any further than you already have. Now who is about to have a very bad day?” I asked leaning forward a bit.
Kita stabbed her steak knife aggressively into her meal. It was becoming increasingly obvious that she and the other woman were not going to be good friends. Honestly, Kita couldn't imagine why HYDRA had sent her, except that she herself had once been a free agent.
Gathering her wits, Kita held up a piece of meat on the knife in front of her. "Call me honey again," she said, her tone of voice sounding as though they were old friend having a friendly chat, "And I will shove this knife into your eye socket." She paused, waved the knife slightly, and then finished off her last bite of steak.
"Now, HYDRA wants you on their side. Not for one job, but for the rest of their war. It won't be long, don't worry." And hopefully Project Insight targets you in the process. "You won't be a free agent until after things are over. And you'll know when it's over. Trust me."
How the hell did we wind up like this? Why weren't we able, to see the signs that we missed And try to turn the tables Now the story's played out like this Just like a paperback novel Let's rewrite an ending that fits Instead of a Hollywood horror
Someday- Nickelback
I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.
Self Pity- D.H. Lawrence
Rain drizzled on the top of the awning, bouncing and plinking onto the concrete below. Yassen stood beneath, cold and damp, but not particularly unhappy. This was good weather. People in Gotham didn't get out in this weather.
The man approached with the package just as expected. Yassen took it, trading the courier an envelope with some money. Ducking into the nearby building, he opened the file, an itinerary for the next month. Quickly reading over his schedule, he noted that he had a meeting with the supplier in less than an hour.
The drive didn't take more than ten minutes. The supplier was set up in a shady part of town, the kind of area that people don't go to unless they have a good reason to be there. A good reason they can explain to the well-armed men patrolling the area.
Yassen parked a block away from the address he had been given and walked the rest of the way. The rain was refreshing, but the assassin hoped the supplier was expecting him. He didn't like being out in the open here.
Knocking on the door, Yassen took a step back, and kept his hand on his gun.
