@shadowprince27 has written an AMAZING story based on a drawing that I did for Wolfstar Big Bang this year! I am so proud of us for pushing through and being able to post this and share it with you guys!

Lmao @zwritesstuff maybe right on some of that for bow hunting but I’ve competed internationally on the jr olympic team and been shooting for more than 15 years and disagree with a very large number of these things. Not least of which is target archery’s compete up to 100 yards. 40 is not at all the max distance. And you absolutely do not close an eye when shooting.
there’s a very large difference between hunting (and, theoretically, using a bow for war) and shooting competitively (not least of all the equipment). i would imagine that most characters are not going to be using a competitive bow, and i would also imagine that they’re not going to be aiming down a nice clear shooting lane. time constraints, trees, target movement, and external forces like the wind, rain, and hell even air pressure, are all going to cause the distance that arrow can fly to drop significantly. 40 is a kill distance on most bows, especially compounds. when hunters talk about ranges on a bow, they’re referring to the max distance they can kill the animal without causing undue pain. 40 is pretty much max, though i definitely know hunters who are comfortable shooting up to 60 if the lighting’s fine and they’re on the edge of a field
and i still disagree about keeping both eyes open. clearly i’m not suggesting that from the moment you pick up a bow, you keep one eye closed. and obviously personal preference plays a roll, and consistency is the main thing to be concerned about as with everything involving archery, but if you’re hunting or shooting in low light, and your eyes are relatively even as far as dominance (most people are like this - you can see/aim out of both, even if you’re not ambidextrous or have a preference for one strongly), closing or mostly closing your non-shooting eye helps eliminate inconsistencies. if there isn’t a huge difference in eye dominance, it’s very easy for the non-aiming eye to take control of the situation - especially in low light
obviously you keep both eyes open while you’re sitting there, and while you’re drawing, and even while you’re getting into position, but it’s way more likely that you’ll be on target if you close your non-dominant eye

22: are you a morning person? nah. which sucks cuz I'm a teacher. and also I know to get back on track with my workouts I have to start working out in the morning, which means getting up at 4:30 instead of 5:30. and I'm not happy about it so I'm just gonna pretend I didn't have that revelation earlier this week and that there's no solution to my exercise troubles.
56: what are some things you find endearing in people? that little "oop" moment when someone drops food on their shirt, and someone who's totally engrossed in a book, and teenagers who draw intricate designs on their hands (or arms or jeans or backpacks), and kids who see someone alone and invite that person to sit/play with them!!!

So many things! But for this, definitely that asexuality is a real orientation so that I wouldn't feel like I was just broken for around 20 years 😫😫
