How often do normal people think about the surface level similarities between Maria Robotnik and Tails and the emotions that might bring to mind for certain edgy black hedgehogs?

Yellow hair/fur

Blue eyes

Kind and good cinnamon rolls

Passionate for or grew up around highly advanced science

Because I definitely think about it a normal amount. Such a normal amount.

i feel strongly that shadails would work because tails, in my mind, is not all sunshine and rainbows. like he can be serious, frustrated, angry. i feel like as he grows he gets more secluded, more isolated as he works on his inventions.

maybe a certain someone could quietly join him while he works. sipping on coffee in the corner, reading a book while his partner goes to work on some new addition for his plane.

maybe words are sparingly used, but the gesture of a snack placed on his desk is enough. a gentle rub on the back.

maybe he brings a new bottle of fur conditioner when he notices the one in the bathroom is low. maybe tails makes space for his skin care products in his cabinet.

i think they could make it work.
