A take on the sleeping beauty tales, here Beauty has agency and is taking control of her own destiny, becoming one with and recognising her intimate and interconnected relationship with the protective, thorny barrier she puts before herself. She finds her truth

For the @monthofloveart challenge, Lies

Finally finished the first week of the Month of Love prompts. Can you guess the theme? Lies. Yep. This piece was initially just going to be the middle section, a little play on the classic Snow White story, but my pencils insisted on a story in the margins. The mirror lies, Snow obtains the poisoned apple through lies (and magic), here she lies against a magically gnarly old tree, and the castle, which lies in the land of faery. This one was a slow progression, a meditation on story in pencil, and I truly enjoyed it. On to the next!
