Vasant Navaratri is the nine-night festival for the Goddess. It occurs in the Lunar month of Chaitra (Mar / Apr), from the first til the ninth lunar tithi (phase) during the shukla paksha (waxing moon cycle). The last day of the festival occurring on the ninth lunar phase is known as Maha Navami. This occurs today. Maha navami is a day when our prayers are greatly empowered. It is possible to overcome great obstacles on this day as all good actions are greatly empowered. Confidence is gained through prayers offered at this time and victory and great attainments are possible. This is one of the most suitable days of the year for connecting with the Divine Mother.
