Going by their abilities in the play, Chorus in Henry V could be the Witch of Space AND Time
@skeleton-richard @arundels I figured out the aspects for the sons of York but I don’t know what York himself is yet; I think a Mage of some kind but I’m not sure what his aspect would be (Heart maybe?)
Edward is Heir of Life. He uses his energy and drive to enact change and inspire others to that change, creating a new ruling class and bringing about peace in spite of the war that brought him to power. (Life is about influence and reality, and Heir is about change through that influence on reality, as in, the dawn of a new era)
George is Rogue of Breath. He uses others’ ambitions to further his own goals rather than using his own ambitions. For example, becoming a Duke through his brother’s influence and then changing sides and using Warwick’s rise to power to better himself. And then switching again. He’s ambitious, but cunning.
Richard is Prince of Blood. He both fuels his ambitions with his own loyalty and at the same time destroys that loyalty. His family ends up dying by his own hand as he uses them to bring himself to greater heights.
(Note: Richard could also be Knight of Blood since there’s a degree of weaponizing loyalty in what he does, but Knight doesn’t seem to involve the destruction of their aspect so I like Prince better for him but it’s kind of debatable)
Edmund is anyone’s guess.
I don’t have anything for 4/13 sadly. Anyone want me to make a Shakestuck post for it then?
@princess-of-france in Homestuck, each character has a title describing their role in the story, made of their class and aspect. So like one character is the Knight of Time, another is Seer of Mind, etc. I've been speculating on classes and aspects for the Henriad and Julius Caesar and I realized two titles overlap between the two (so characters from those two sources have the same title). By coincidence, I decided that Porcia is the Maid of Blood and so is Catherine, and Calpurnia and Isabelle are both Seer of Doom! (Just thought you might like those connections of these ladies)
Okay so I’m the only one on here currently into Homestuck so I feel a little weird about this but @themalhambird was talking about superpowered Plantagenets and I ended up wanting to write up some of my ideas for the Henriad/associated periods with Homestuck mechanics.
Richard is the Prince of Time. He’s almost literally called this in 5.5, right after his soliloquy on time, the groom calls him “Prince.” The Prince is one of two destructive classes, the other being the Bard, and the Prince actively causes destruction. Richard did that with time, in part by wasting it and something more specific that I’ll have to think about. When Shouty Salisbury says “bid time return,” unfortunately Richard can’t do that. He was supposed to break a chain of events and alter a timeline, but things obviously went wrong.
Aumerle is the Bard of Blood, also destructive, but passively, so like allowing destruction. Blood has to do with family, relationships, allegiances. He’s sort of a disaster magnet and is torn between family allegiances. In one timeline, the bad timeline, Aumerle kills Richard, which wasn’t supposed to happen. Richard WAS supposed to die, but not that way. Thanks a lot Ned.
Isabelle is the Seer of Doom. The Seer guides their team through knowledge of their aspect, in this case suffering, disaster. She foresaw something bad coming, but didn’t know what it was, so there was no way to warn her team. In the scene with BBG, they mention perspectives, which when rightly gazed upon... that is mirrored in Homestuck when Doc Scratch asks Rose, a Seer, “how does a seer see?” and “I told you about staring...” Isabelle couldn’t see what was coming because...
Henry is the Page of Void, starting with nothing and then gaining his aspect. He uses the void to obscure his intentions and his arrival back in England. This is what Isabelle couldn’t see. I still need to think more about his powers.
Prince Hal/Henry V is the Heir of Heart. Heart is concerned with the self and the soul. The abilities of the Heir aren’t quite clear, but the Heir might be taken over by their aspect. Hal makes multiple forms of himself and ultimately has to become one of them, and the soul aspect fits with his spiritual issues.
Hotspur is another character with his classpect almost literally appearing in the play. He’s the Knight of Hope, equipping himself with it and believing in things like honor, and in other people, like Jake, the Page of Hope says in HS “I like believing in people!” Compare that to Hotspur talking about “very good friends.” The Knight also often hides something, and he hides his damaged mental state, mostly successfully from most others but unsuccessfully from Kate.
Kate is the Sylph of Life. Sylphs are healers, and life is pretty obvious. She shows concern for Hotspur’s deteriorating mental/physical health. In Part 2, she uses natural imagery, like if her tears could make a tree grow.
...so that’s just a bit of my speculation.
Textual evidence of Richard being the Prince of Time:
Richard says “time” 10 times (missed highlighting it in "Show minutes, times, and hours") in his speech in 5.5 , obviously talking about its destruction, and on entering, the groom calls him “Prince.”
Prince Hal/Henry V, the Heir of Heart. He’s a Derse dreamer and his pesterchum handle is princelyTrickster
