Chasing Myself

I don't think I'll ever be at peace when my whole sense of self turned out to be this weak

I've put a time limit on who I am and I'm trying to escape the expiration date

I can't tell if it's for the best or worst when I figured out what I thought saddness was actually my highest

All I've ever wanted can only take place in the present

I don't want a future when I can't see me in it

I'm packing up characteristics like they're belongings I'm forcing myself to throw away-

They're waiting in a corner of my existance and I don't want to carry them any further

The cold is dancing on my skin stirring up goosebumps-

Reckless changing temperature within each square inch

Maybe I'm sick-

If not physically, probably mentally

I pretend my arms are magnets-

I won't let them separate because they aren't needed nor wanted anywhere else
