I'm really vibing with Silvertorch, but like. in a hopeless crush kinda way... Johnny sees in Shalla-Bal everything he yeanrs for; Adventure, Space, the vastness of the universe, the unknown. She is literally out of this world. She's fascinating.

And Shalla-Bal doesn't think much of him at first. He's just another person marked for death. She pities him. But he is vibrant, and so full of life, and he wants to live. More so, he'll do anything to ensure his loved ones live... I think she'd feel... affection.

It's not love for them, not even a crush.

But I think, on Johnnys side, it could turn into one if they met again and were to... get to know each other. He speaks some of her language. She probabably hasn't heard it in so long. She might teach him more, because he asks her to. He might ask her about her home, about her loved ones.

And even if she doesn't tell him everything, it would be catharic for her, I think. And maybe Johnny develops a crush. She's still out of this world. She's beautiful. But she's more; She's brave, and sad, and he kind of - Understands. Maybe he would have done the same to protect his family. He probably would have.

He likes how gently she talks. He likes how she listens so intently and how she says what she means. He likes how the light reflects of her skin, and how her eyes sparkle when she sees something she finds endearing. He likes how she looks at him; In awe, sometimes.

And Shalla-Bal knows he's crushing on her. And maybe that just endears him more to her. Maybe she feels... protective of him. Of this romantic streak in him, of how he clearly sees such good in her, where she knows there's nothing to find. Maybe it hurts, the way he looks at her sometimes, and maybe she still can't turn away, because she hasn't been looked at with warmth like that in so long. Maybe she feels terrible about how good it feels to be wanted like this.

Maybe she doesn't return his feelings, but she cares for him. She does, and she knows it will hurt when they have to part ways again.
