I'd all but die if you gave me some headcanons for Mariah and Emily. Pleaseeee?

Mod Note: Let’s start 2020 off right, shall we? 😘

These two definitely bond over the philosophy of girl power and not being underestimated. However, despite this commonality, their personalities differ in terms of intensity. Emily is a bit more hot-headed and impulsive while Mariah is enthusiastic and passionate, and tends to deescalate situations because of her optimistic attitude. Although they appear to be opposites on the surface, their characteristics actually compliment one another. When Emily embraces her rage and is quick to retaliate, Mariah takes pleasure in being able to turn any situation into something playful. This actually catches Emily off guard, because she’s so used to people taking her comments to heart and feeding into her wrath. Mariah doesn’t give her the satisfaction of invoking that kind of energy and surprisingly, Emily finds that a bit thrilling. She sees Mariah as a challenge, but at the same time a curious being that she feels inclined to engage with. Mariah is quick, sharp, and keeps Emily on her toes - a nice change of pace from the usual crowd that constantly annoys her.

Mariah easily makes Emily blush - and rather effortlessly. Mariah has always been the observant type, so she knows exactly what to do to bring Emily down from her highs. Her favorite thing to do is to cup the other girls cheek and stroke her lips with her thumb. I just imagine her doing this while sticking out her tongue and telling her to calm down. If it were anyone else telling Emily to calm down, she would’ve flipped a table on them, but because it’s Mariah, those internal flames have now found their way towards her own cheeks. Mariah also enjoys hugging Emily, regardless of the occasion. She prefers surprise hugs and Emily does as well. Although Emily doesn’t like when people try to penetrate the walls she has up, those unexpected acts of affection make her feel like her presence is actually acknowledged and that she’s wanted. Although Emily might squirm around at first and act annoyed, she eventually melts into the other’s grasp and nuzzles into the opposing frame without even realizing it. Emily is smart and honestly a really good blader, but there are moments when her team does make her feel dismissed. To have Mariah there honestly pulls her out of those funks.

Emily tells herself that she isn’t fond of public displays of affection, but she only says that, because she thinks its unprofessional and obnoxious. Mariah, on the other hand, enjoys spoiling her partners. When Mariah comes to visit, she makes a point to steal Emily away or to unexpectedly drag her into a random room so she can kiss her. The only thing one could possibly hear in that empty room is Mariah giggling and Emily trying to shush her in between laughs. Those moments bring out Emily’s softness. She finds it hard to get mad at Mariah, because she’s aware of her honest intentions. She can’t help but fall for someone who’s really trying to show her how fun and enjoyable life can be. In truth, Emily’s team has always been about rank. She’s always had to prove herself to other people in order to get validation and credit. Mariah makes her feel like she can finally relax. When they kiss, Emily honestly melts. She finds herself instinctively deepening kisses, placing her arms around Mariah’s shoulders, or even rubbing noses in the dark. They laugh between kisses and Emily often leaves the room with her lip-gloss slightly smudged. Mariah loves, more than anything, hearing the way Emily expresses her elation, because she knows just how much that girl deserves happiness and relief after all the hard work she puts into everything. Honestly, these two really look out for each other and want whats best for their well being.
