1. things that inspire you
Usually movies. My process is generally, I see something really cool, think “I want to write that,” and then I do, and over the course of the process it becomes something of my own design.
8. what time are you most productive?
euuughghghg I want to say evening or afternoon but fuck it I’m not consistently productive.
11. do you listen to music when writing?
Yeah! Especially if I really need to get into the zone, I’ll play a playlist of movie soundtracks specific to the writing project and have that going while I do my thing.
13. hardest character to write
(a previous asker did this but Imma have another go)
Matt Murdock was p difficult for me when I was doing that. Couldn’t get the grip on him that I wanted.
24. favorite scene you’ve ever written
ok through the sheer amount of things I’ve written I’m forced to do top five for a lot of these
1. When my own OTP in my own series got together and it was dope af (Quest and Jaden, Harborage series)
2. Battle scenes in the I’m Willing to Wait For Him thread (those turned out so fucking good and I didn’t think I’d do that good).
3. Final scene of my Herbalist’s Apprentice trilogy (it still makes me cry??)
4. The end of the final battle in the Harborage series (it’s so... uplifting)
5. Any scene in King of Fools where the four dumb rich boys are being idiots together
25. favorite line you’ve ever written
You’re gonna make me go look through my shit omg (top five again)
1. “I am not God. I am God’s loophole.” (Solomon, Harborage series.)
2. “[Y]ou’ve done worse than love us, mon ami, you’ve turned us into lovers, too. You are the king of all fools. [...] And I, a proud fool, will gladly follow you.” (Victor Vaugrenarde, King of Fools)
3. "The Guardians wouldn't ask a king unless a king could do the work [...] The same goes for thieves and herbalists' apprentices." (Olwe, The Herbalist’s Apprentice)
4. “Perhaps Atlas was never punished at all. Perhaps the sky needed to be held and the gods knew he would do it.” (Atlas’ internal monologue, Power)
5. “Your independence was sacrificed on the blade of your sword of happiness, believing that the alternative was happiness sacrificed upon a sword of truth.” (A school project for Brave New World, a letter from John Savage)
38. do you reread your own stories?
C O N S T A N T L Y. I do that more than I write them lmao. (I genuinely love my own writing most of the time).
39. do you want to be published some day?
That is literally the only thing I want in all the world.
