the only two joke scenes ive seen are the one where the nopon guy activates activates his cute robot girl (that one sucked) and zeke's introduction scene which i actually kinda enjoyed. he calls himself the zekinator and has a pet turtle. i like him

The continuation of the robot joke is the nopon pretending that Poppi was set to that maid setting by accident and he switches her to the more robotic personality she has in the rest of the game, also Pyra is suspicious of some maid outfits he has in the closet

The others are stuff like “Rex struggles to lift Pyra on a rope which is bad because you can’t call girls heavy” “Nia gets funny-mad at a wanted poster of her that looks ugly” or worst of all “nopon tries to teach Pyra to act like a maid and Pyra agrees so she can please Rex”—again no actual buildup to a romance has happened, the writers assume the player will take a romance for granted as soon as they meet

In general it’s out of character with corny sfx and music and usually gender based jokes, and ALWAYS super cliche like they’re making no effort at all to come up with their own stuff

ive never played any wolfensteins but this new one looks huge good and im interested in the series, is there a good place to start that doesnt involve just playing every single installment

ohh yes i’d say jump right into the new order. the game did an incredibly good job at balancing the demands of classic wolfenstein fans and newer gen fps gamers. don’t be afraid to play on an easier difficulty even if it mocks you a little bit for it as that’s just an exact echo of john romero’s tradition from decades past which i thought was an ESSENTIAL addition to the game. god i love those portraits.

a lot of bj’s characterisation is much more delicious when you’re played the classic games so a lot of him might come off to you as generic sad macho man but the beauty of it is knowing that all he was for the past two decades was a mostly silent man with no aspirations or dreams (in my favorite game analyst Noah Caldwell-Gervais’ words: “never saying anything that isn’t minimally functional to the plot or what’s happening immediately in the game’s setting”) or anything like that. so seeing him have feelings, romantic, nostalgic, empathetic, it sort of runs against the grain of what bj traditionally was since the ‘90s and return to casltle wolfenstein in 2001 and humanizes him which sort of undoes the macho man thing you’ve come to expect from his character.

i think that’s all you need to know going into the game.

it lost some of its impact because sesel already used ‘my pee smell’ for her name

the story of this game got real fucking crazy. i loved it. i remember sweating bullets after beating the final boss for the first time in like 2 in the morning. amazing soundtrack too. metal face is probably one of my favorite video game villains
