Why have you started to hate Japan? (you don't have to reply if you don't want to ; 7 ;)
Hate is a strong word, let’s use strongly dislike. Ah, Japan, the place a lot of people see like paradaisu. Coming here as a tourist for two weeks gave me an image that I couldn’t erase, I got stubborn and decided that I HAD to study over there, here I am.
Society proved to be the exact OPPOSITE, a 180 degree turn. The politeness and friendly smiles people had shown me were no longer there (except for people I met in an environment of shared interests, where people proved, not easy, but more open to talk to). The amount of hours people work here, and the pressure that carries make some people go, not only suicidal, but most some really grumpy and frustrated. People who leave oppressed by a really strict system. At least a ninety percent of people I’ve met can’t think outside the box. People with no hobbies except from watching tv after working 12 hours.
It’s like living in a huge factory where most of the workers are robots, with a few lovely and refreshing exceptions. Is there fun? Yes. Are there things to enjoy, nice heritage, food, interesting fashion? Yes.
Is it a place where a free spirit can be happy? Not so much. Your freedom, if out of the correct standards of what should be done, is a bother.
Could I answer? I hope so. If I didn’t have my western friends here, I don’t know where I’d be right now. This place is just not the appropriate for a person like me.---Again, a personal experience, from someone who’s been here for two years.
