He Hasn’t Noticed Yet ~ Shanks x Reader
Anonymous asked: Hello hope ur doing well I was wondering if I could get the red hair pirates with a Female crew member who gets a lot of confessions when every they at an island. So as usual a guy comes up to her asking but she rejects. Either the guy or a crew member ask why she always reject the confessions. And she say 'because I already have feelings for someone on the crew but he sadly hasn't notice yet'. She just leaves the crew guessing who could it be. Oh and can it be shanks.
I'm sorry if this is complicated
And I couldn't find ur rules sorry if I'm breaking one of them
//Hello there! I have never written for Shanks before, so this will be interesting. And you’re perfectly fine regarding the rules. However, I would appreciate if everyone could take a look at the rules before requesting, just so it’s clear what I will and won’t write about. Anywho, I hope you like it Anon//
sat in the Crow’s Nest of the Crescent-Moon Gally, the ship that belonged to the Red-Hair Pirates themselves. You swung your legs back and forth, smiling as you watched the sun rise. You started to hum the familiar tune of Bink’s Brew before singing out loud.
“Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho, Yo-hohoho, Yo-hoho-ho, Gather up all of the crew! It's time to ship out Bink's brew! Sea wind blows. To where? Who knows? The waves will be our guide! O'er across the ocean's tide, Rays of sunshine far and wide, Birds they sing of cheerful things, in circles passing by!” By now, the sun was high in the sky and the crew was smiling up at the woman in the crow’s nest, singing every pirate’s favorite song. The captain himself walked out, smiling and looking up at the only female on the crew. Yes, you heard that correctly. The only female. You actually grew up along side Shanks and Buggy on Gol D. Roger’s ship, serving under the amazing man. When he was executed, it tore you, Shanks and Buggy apart, mostly affecting you and your soon to be captain. Roger had been like a father to you and was extremely protective of you.
Now, here you were, in the Great Pirate Era, sailing the seas along side the next generation of pirates.
You spotted an island not too far ahead. You smiled and looked down at your Captain.
“Captain!” You shouted. Shanks and the rest of the crew looked up. “There’s an island dead ahead! Might be a good spot to stop and restock on some supplies we need.” You said. Shanks gave you a smile.
“Thanks for the information, [Y/N].” Shanks said. He looked at the crew. “Men, and lady, let’s head straight for the island! [Y/N], stay in the crows nest and keep an eye out for any marines. The last thing we need is those bastards on our tail.” Shanks said. You closed one eye, giving a salute and smiling.
“Aye Captain!” You shouted and turned, opening your eye again and keeping a look out. Beckman smiled as he stood next to Shanks, looking up at you. The sun glistened on your [h/l] [h/c] hair.
“She really has a good eye for things, especially for spotting islands.” He said. You never ate a devil fruit that gave you powers to see well, you just had really good eyesight, which was essential for spotting rival pirate ships or marines who were too far for the crew to spot. You would spot them and warn them about it ahead of time.
“And she’s quite the looker!” Yasopp said. Shanks frowned slightly at this. Unbeknownst to the crew or yourself, Shanks had fallen for you. He fell for you the first moment he saw you. He did his best, and succeeded, at hiding his feelings from the crew as well as you. He didn’t want to face rejection should you not feel the same so he kept quiet.
The ship docked at the port, getting the all clear from you that there were no marines at the port. You walked with Beckman and Yasopp, gathering more supplies such as first aid and food. You were just about to check the last item off of your list, when a strikingly handsome young man walked up to you and smirked.
“Hey there, beautiful. Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” The man flirted. Beckman and Yasopp immediately went on the defensive. They cared about you as well, making sure to protect you if need be. You just stared at the man, unaffected by his flirting.
“Thank you for the compliment, however, my companions and I must be going.” You said. The three of you tried to step around the man, but he blocked your path. The man scoffed.
“Come one sugar, why not ditch these two and come with me. I’m sure I could show you a fun time.” The man smirked. You rolled your eyes.
“How troublesome,” you muttered. You glared at the man. “While your flattery may work to boost your ego, it is doing nothing to make me swoon for you. Now, if you and your ego would kindly step out of the way, my companions and I will take our leave now.” You said. The man frowned and stepped out of the way. While you did not like the way he flirted with you, you were glad to know that the man knew when to back off and not cause a scene.
“Ya know,” Yasopp started. “There’s something I don’t get, [Y/N].” He said. You were sitting on a barrel on the deck. You and your crew-members had gotten the supplies you needed and were setting sail again. The sun was beginning to set. You looked at the sharp shooter, a cup of water in your hand and one leg crossed over the other.
“Oh, and what’s that, Yasopp?” You asked.
“Well, you’re this beautiful, attractive young lady and you have every single man we have ever come across groveling at your feet and begging you to let them buy you a drink, but you always reject them. Why’s that?” Yasopp asked. Shanks frowned.
“Come on now, Yasopp. [Y/N] doesn’t have to answer if she doesn’t want to.” He said. You looked at your captain and smiled gratefully.
“Thank you for your concern, Shanks, but I assure you, it is quite alright,” you looked at Yasopp. “To answer your question, Yasopp, the reason I have rejected every man who has ever confessed to me is because I already have feelings for someone. They are apart of this crew,” you looked down sadly. “But he sadly hasn't noticed yet.” You said. You finished the cup of water. “That is all I am going to say on the matter. I am going to bed now. Good night everyone. Wake me when it is my turn to take watch.” The crew watched as you made your way to your cabin, the sad look still on your face. Shanks frowned. The person you liked was a part of the crew? Knowing this, who was this mystery man?
//I’d like to apologize for not getting this out sooner, Anon. I am just about to finish my second semester of college and I have been working full time. I hope you like this. If you would like a part two where Shanks and the Reader confess, just request and I’ll get right to it.//
