Study Tips
April Study Challenge | Day 4
Hey guys! It's Shannon, so day 4 of the April study challenge is "Tuesday Tips" so I thought I'd give it a shot.
Reward yourself. This is so so so important. By rewarding yourself you are inspiring yourself to continue studying so you can get that reward at the end. Of course, this does require some self-control because we all know that we just want to take that reward without doing the work, BUT DO NOT. Imagine my scolding you and trust me you'll feel 100 times worse for doing that.
Find what type of learner you are. There are quizzes all over google to find that out. I have learned that I tend to be a mix between a kinesthetic and auditory learner so I am very hands on and learn by listening. This is important because now I know to not spend hours and hours making pretty and colorful study guides because that's not what helps me.
Keep a calendar. This is SO helpful especially when I have big exams like finals or APs because I can plan out my schedule for studying. For example, I am in the midst of studying for my AP World History exam, so I took my review books and planned out when I wanted each section done by. This is great for keeping on task and not stressed out.
Keep your workspace clear. I am a pretty messy person if I am being honest, I love being clean and organized, but sometimes I'm lazy. I find that when something as simple as when my bed is not made that I cannot work.
Get all your stuff together when you first sit down. Try to get all your stuff together before you sit down so you can avoid getting up and getting distracted. Maybe make a checklist of the things you need before you start, just DO NOT spend 20 minutes making the list.
Have a glass of water with you when you study. This is a key thing for me because when I study I get so thirsty it is unbelievable. It also keeps me full so that I don’t get hungry when I study.
Get comfy. You OBVIOUSLY cannot study when you are uncomfortable so put on your favorite sweatpants or leggings (or whatever you’re comfortable in) and a comfy sweatshirt or oversized t-shirt and get to work!
Find out what time of day is best for you. I personally think the morning is the best time for me to study, but since I’m still in high school I am kind of constrained so that sucks.
I hope you guys liked this post! Let me know if you want more posts like this!
