Wow, that sharcannibal art is amazing! Is there a fic that goes along with the piece, or something that you based it off of? Or is there any shark!hannibal fic that you know of, for that matter? Also, what species is will? He looks kind of like a whale shark.

Thank you! There is no fic (YET!!! If someone writes one for this I will cry). Was initially inspired by @reapersun‘s art and the top left image in @camilleflyingrotten​’s post (accompanied by a ficlet by @slashyrogue​). A good portion of the “science” behind this headcanon is based on this quality shark dissection video. I haven’t seen any shark!hannibal fic beyond the post I linked above :( Edit: there’s a recommendation in the replies, thanks @kesskay!Will’s characteristics were influenced by those of a dolphin and dogfish. In my AU convergent evolution drove merpeople in different environments to develop markings that may look similar to those of other marine creatures. An early split in the mer! evolutionary tree explains the difference between Will and Hannibal. Your interest is much appreciated :)
