Addendum re the Nord Stream thing
i should mention what i have subsequently learned. while seymour hersh did indeed break the my lai massacre and abu ghraib stories among many others, as i said in the tags, i have subsequently seen criticism of his more recent work as being unreliably sourced and inconsistent, verging on conspiracy theory rather than investigative journalism.
here’s an article claiming one of his recent stories was bogus.
i can’t say how accurate the criticism is, cuz i’m just some asshole with a tumblr page, but it appears there is substantial reason to doubt his recent reporting. as i noted in the tags on the post, any reportage you see on substack should be read with an especially critical eye, as the lack of editorial oversight is a double-edged sword.
this follow-up post is here to underline that point, and to make clear that i abhor misinformation and never want to spread it if i can help it. if i get something wrong, or post something potentially misleading, i encourage those who notice to inform me. i will look into your claim, at the very least.
EDIT: having now read the article i linked above in full, i’m actually pretty inclined to doubt hersh now. his apparent obsession with false flag operations and spectacular movielike setpieces tracks with the nord stream piece. for the record.
