Just a question, um, can schizophrenics share hallucinations? I can't find any information on google or anything so I decided to come to tumblr and see if anyone knows and I found you guys. I really hope you guys know. Thank you.

It depends what you mean by “sharing hallucinations.” I believe that it’s possible for someone to take on a hallucination through the power of suggestion. I don’t have schizophrenia, but if someone mentions ticks to me, I might actually “feel” ticks crawling on me. For me, that’s real sensations being misinterpreted, but it could potentially occur with hallucinations too.

By the way, many people with schizophrenia prefer the term “person with schizophrenia” as they find “schizophrenic” to be dehumanizing.
