jay/kay for the ship ask?
I could see it! But I don't actively ship it. I think Jay and Kay work better as mentee (who grows up under Kay's mentorship, progressing from rookie to colleague and friend) and mentor (who finds purpose in helping Jay find purpose, and eventually finds in him perhaps his only real friend since Zed).
There've been some fanworks that have sold me on Jay/Kay. Mostly, I prefer their respective canon romances. I love Jay/Laura, I love Kay/Elizabeth Ann (even though they broke up), and I really love the tragic Kay/Lauranna backstory.
Whether romantic or not, I like fandom interpretations that understand why the two of them get along - ie. that Kay is batshit reckless and wild and idealistic underneath all the deadpan, and Jay is more often than not the one trying to keep Kay out of danger as he walks right into it, lol.
(Additionally, I think Kay is a kinky motherfucker alienfucker and might absolutely also be into human men, but my feeling is he'd probably go for men his own age? Idk, I think he'd like a comfortable romance with a nice fellow silver fox who can laugh at Jay's antics with him. What I'm saying is I think he should date President James Marshall.)
- There is one question you haven’t asked me yet: why. - I figured you would tell me when you were ready.

3. What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?
Man, I wanna say Fugitive, because it's like four of us yelling and a shoelace (the self-identified shoelace is @actiaslunaris)

Jobey Do U Want Me To Talk About Vincent/Daniel, Because U Know I Will Talk About Vincent/Daniel
tl;dr and hella spoilers for Collateral (2004): Vincent and Daniel had a connection. It looked like in another life, they could've talked jazz forever. And Vincent knew it; the way he shoots Daniel is markedly emotional for a supposedly clinical assassin (he fires off more shots than necessary at point-blank range, and the last one misses Daniel, even though he's already dead), and he cradles his hand almost tenderly afterward; there's respect there, dignity there that he doesn't afford his other marks. Max's turning point came when he found out Annie was the final name on the list; Vincent's reckoning came earlier that night, when he was forced to choose between letting a mark live - when that mark was his possible only chance at a real, unforced human connection - and putting his own livelihood, his own life at risk. He chose himself, but there's a compelling argument that for just a moment, he could have chosen otherwise - that when he asked Daniel for that difficult piece of jazz trivia, he wanted Daniel to get it right, to give him an excuse to let him live. And I will just possibly be spending some time writing in the universe in which he did.

💢 💤 💘
💢 Ship that is most misunderstood
Tony/Pepper gets a lot of unnecessary flak from the fandom. There's a fair amount of unhealthiness there, sure, but I don't think it's insurmountable, nor do I think it's the kind of unhealthiness that tends toward turning abusive. (...See below for that.)
💤 Ship that is canon but you don't ship
Maverick/Charlie. It's oh so romantic on the surface, but they're deeply different people in a way that ends up much more detrimental to Mav than to Charlie. He's too vulnerable to manipulation to ever be sustainably healthy in that relationship, and her worldview differs just enough from his that she'd be much happier with someone who has fewer emotional needs than he does.
💘 Ship that is unpopular but you still like
Ethan/Luther and Ethan/Hunley spring to mind, but they're just rare, not unpopular; they're not actively side-eyed by anyone, I don't think. So for an unpopular pairing I ship, I'd go with Tony/Natasha. (I also adore Tony/Pepper/Natasha, but that's got a fair few people interested in the past!)
💚 💖 and 💦
💚: Ship that you secretly like
It is a truth universally acknowledged that I can't shut the Fuck up about any of my ships, lol. But there is one that I haven't mentioned before: it's Roman Nagel/Livingston Dell from the Ocean's films! Livingston calls Roman for help at the end of Thirteen, and they hatch a little subplot within the main plot, and it's just adorable. I love them a lot. 💛 (Also Roman has absolutely slept with Rusty.)
💖: Ship that needs more love
all of them okay, I'll choose one: Jack Ryan/Commander Mancuso from The Hunt for Red October.
💦: Ship that is taboo
...look, I ship a lot of selfcest. A lot of it. I don't think there are any other kinds of taboo relationships I'm into - I have a ship with a significant age gap (Ethan/Max-from-MI-1), but they're both consenting adults who are very into whatever sparks are flying between them. So, taboo-wise, selfcest is as close as it gets. Tony Stark from the MCU/Tony Stark from another universe! Jack Harper/Jack Harper! Jim Kirk/android Jim Kirk! I will eat most if not all selfcest up with a spoon.
