i'm taking breaks from social media platforms as ig for a reason; continously observing and noticing new things about how social media can disrupt real connection and steal our time. That's the reason why tumblr is my constant safe space and safe zone, not only when feeling overwhelmed by other platforms. Just quite recently, my eyes are being reopened once again for just how much fakeness and fakebubbles can be found on ig. The good thing is, if youre a deep feeler /hsp/empath(all goes hand in hand), you can clearly distinguish between people who genuinely want to help others and share their lives authentically...and those who are using altruism basically as a product, trying to create a better image and facade of themselves, when, in fact- all that they do is creating a fake bubble. Ego shows. Someone who feels with their heart feels also when there is fakeness and just mere pretending that you help others and are concerned about the world bla bla bla. Then, on the other hand, those ,creators' and ,influencers' are earning up to 10k a month (many of them!)- and what are they doing with that money?-Right, mainly reinvesting it in their business. Esp the white priviliged ones from the western countries (i can relate as im livng here in the west). These people seem like oh so worried about the world and what is going on and in truth do not give a single fck about it, nor really talk about it in detail with their ,followers'. Of course there are exceptions-those are the people that count. Those, who do not care about taking thousands for retreats and selling their products fast - but about helping others, kindness, empathy and realness. Those, who do not have to prove to the world that they help people because they ARE ACTUALLY HELPING PEOPLE RIGHT NOW. Meanwhile, many of those so-called ,creators' and ,influencers' are chilling in their spa resort in dubai or their appartment in the states, driving fancy cars or whatever and not caring at all. The fakers are now more visible than ever it seems to me. And that's good. Because their role as a faker is more and more dissolving. So many of these people talking about peace, travelling the world. but you dont even have to travel somewhere just go outside (yea also in the western countries) and you will find a lot of homeless people who are genuinely happy for a piece of bread. A warm hoodie or just a gentle smile. You dont have to be ,someone' to do good in this world- everyone can do good all of the time, we all have free will. We don't need ,heroes'. We dont need role models all of the time or endless coaching. What we need are humans being humans, helping each other and supporting each other. What those ,social' media platforms create is mainly anti-social and harmful. Because many of these people sell products and promote companies ; this is their income and they solely depend on the companies (if they do so, whatever companies or business that may be) and the philosophy of. the company. A mirror of capitalistic structures working within the digital bubble they are creating. On the other hand, you can also clearly recognize now who is not fake- mostly theyre absolutely ,normal' people just like you and me. No masks, no facades, no fakeness, no capitalistic slaves nd robots. Just genuine, real human beings.
