My mom says that when her father went to check his traps, before he saw any dead animal, he would see a grey bird sitting in the tree, watching. Where dead animals were, this bird seemed to follow. It did not eat the flesh, it only watched. She said it was a small, pretty bird. They call it a "goozi".
My mom just told me a story about my grandpa. He was a band councillor so he would end up getting blamed for a lot of stuff that wasn't his fault. This guy went up to him with a loaded gun (presumably some kind of hunting rifle), he was about 25 feet away and my grandpa starts walking towards him and says, "When I get there, you're dead." and the guy drops his gun which my grandpa takes away when he does get there and refrains from whacking the guy with it.
Conclusion: My grandpa was a badass.
The weirdest things trigger these stories from my mom. She told this one because we were watching Criminal Minds.

I was Dean Winchester, and I was with Castiel who seemed to be out of angel mojo. The 10th Doctor was there but at somewhat of a loss. We were hiding in another dimension? But for some reason we couldn't close the door. The enemy was these nightmare ghosts and tiny robots with red lights. They were seeping into the world and we didn't know how to defeat them yet. The robots weren't so bad, but the ghosts could show up anywhere.
First, we're living in this complex. The security is right and there are different sections, like squares. A fire broke out in _____ and I have to go check it out. Cas and I head through the sections but it's a confusing design. It's like a video game, and you have to go into a room before you know what's in there. By time we get there, the fire will probably already be out. We try a door.
Cas followed me in, and it was like a DVD/book/music store and it was the 80s for whatever reason. Set up like an electronic section at Zellers. I thought it was great because they were selling some awesome tunes. The place seemed fine. The clerk was a nice lady. There were Supernatural books there. Not the ones Chuck wrote, the ones that were written for the actual tv show. Cas seemed really interested in them for whatever reason. This other guy walks out and he says, "thanks for the _____!" So I ask if I can have something for free too because I'm kind of an important dude, not to brag or anything. She laughs and says sure so I ask Cas which book he wants and he chooses one. Everything is fine so we leave.
There's a problem with the security. Somehow there's been a breach. Tiny robots are everywhere they're not supposed to be. Everyone's running. A little girl is attacked by a nightmare ghost on the way to the bathroom. I'm trying to get people to safety but the ghosts are everywhere. I turn around and it's just Cas and me. Everyone else is gone.
We're looking for them and follow the sound of their voices up a staircase and through the dimensional door. The Doctor is there with everyone who made it to the door. He looks at us as we come in but continues talking. I don't remember anything he said. The situation becomes increasingly desperate. The ghosts create a human figure to fool us, but it doesn't. Ghosts doesn't seem right it was more like Negatives. The Doctor is at ends, and there's lots of running. One of the times, Cas forgot the book, and I picked it up and carried it like it was the most important thing in the world(s). We have to go up, because the negatives are everywhere. They pull and grab and absorb. We think we'll be fine though, in the end, because we're with the Doctor. And christ I'm a hunter and Cas is Cas even when he's out of juice. How could we lose?
There are a lot of doors, and the corridors are concrete or metal. We open one and it leads outside. A stormy ocean is out there but we go onto the platform anyways because it makes sense at the time. Waves are like mountains. The people we were there with have mostly gone, probably negatives now. The Doctor is tugging at his hair and walking in circles, while Cas and I can't really do much. It's cold and windy so we stay close to each other. Castiel hasn't said anything the entire time, nor has he made much expression. We just look at each other and through dream knowledge know what we're saying. 10th is seriously worried now. He just doesn't know and it's awful to watch. There are massive fish in the ocean. Like whales, but they look like some kind of salmon. They're threatening.
It's a grey world.
We know the negatives will find us. Nothing we've tried has worked, and we've tried everything we know. I'm not massively upset about it because I still seem to think we'll make it in the end. The Doctor looks at us like he's sorry. I hand Cas the book and he seems pleased. 10 looks like he just finished a puzzle but isn't particularily happy about it.
We're probably going to die.
