Potent Potions || Kitty & Rachel

Honestly this situation with the school’s students being threatened was giving Kitty headache after headache. She had been trying to deal with it by herself; she was the Headmistress after all and it was her job to take care of things like this as quickly and as efficiently as possible. However she was learning that burden as heavy as these threats could not be carried by her alone. Time to consult one of the few people Kitty trusted these days.

She walked through the school halls down to the Potions classroom to where Rachel kept her office. As she got closer, she could smell the various concoctions wafting down the halls. While not all the scents could be described as pleasant, Kitty found herself smiling as she remembered all the time she had spent in the Potions class herself when she was a student, struggling to make potions as potent as anyone else’s. Charms and Quidditch was where Kitty’s talents lay, not potions.

Rachel was one of the best potions makers in the Wizarding world and Kitty knew it was an honour to have Rachel here at Hogwarts to teach the students. Perhaps Rachel might have something to help with Kitty’s headaches?

“Hello? Rachel?” Kitty knocked on the classroom door before heading in and heading towards Rachel’s office. “Please tell me you have the recipe for pina coladas or long island iced teas? Because I could really use one or several of each right about now.”

Muggles...Muggles everywhere || Hogwarts AU || Open

He should be worried with the threat that came in before the start of a new school year but here he was in the classroom, happily humming away. Putting up posters of musical bands, pictures of the day to day life of a muggle and placing random items he found in thrift stores on the shelves. Going on without much of a care but that was on the outside. Deep down, he was worried. No sense in being all doom and gloom around everyone else. Sure in his past work as an Auror, threats were taken seriously and he learned quickly that even the smallest ones were just as dangerous as the big ones. 

But that was a time long ago. Many habits stuck around, but he was now a professor at Hogwarts. Muggle Studies was the class. Complete opposite of what he did in the past. James just felt that he could take it easy with the rest of his life. Plus, being muggleborn gave him a larger knowledge base than most professors. As there seemed to be some strange misunderstanding about how muggles go about with their lives without magic. Which is something he enforced. No magic in class. Or else they will have to endure a game of Monopoly with him. Maybe Mario party if he can get the systems working in the school. 

He stifled a laugh at an old memory from his childhood. Those games ruined any relationship (not permanently, but it just brought out the strong inner competitor side). Placing a remote control on a shelf to display, as most did not understand that it was for the television and not to control another person. James took a step back and nodded at the completion of his task. As he turned, the middle aged man practically jumped in surprise seeing that someone was in the room with him. “Mother apedick...Haven’t you heard of a thing called noise?”

Delays & Developments (AU) ||Peter & Kitty

SHARP Hogwarts AU

When people asked Peter what the best part of being keeper for the Montrose Magpies was, he usually answered with something generic and snarky that he knew the fans would love. He loved the limelight and played the part of dreamy idol well- to be honest he didn’t have to act that much- but at the end of the day, Peter’s feelings remained the same. He had a genuine love for the game. Which is why he’d agreed to return to his old school and teach, if only for a while. After everything, helping out was the least he could do.

Of course, things turned out to not be quite as planned. When Peter had apparated onto the border just outside Hogwarts, he didn’t immediately notice anything wrong. Classes wouldn’t start for a few weeks, but he’d been asked by the headmistress to come in a little early for preliminaries- so it was no surprise to him that the place was empty. But, as he approached the school he found it deserted. He made his way onto the grounds, just enjoying the feeling of being back. He wandered the perimeter of the school lazily, finally stopping at the quidditch fields. 

The stadium was smaller than her remembered, although it may have just been the comparison of what he was used to now. He glanced around for someone to talk to and spotted no one. So he did what was reasonable to do: got on his broom. Peter looped in and out of the goal posts and a steady speed, remembering his time as keeper at Hogwarts. He’d played for the Slytherin house team, a sorting choice based on his competitive nature that payed off in the end. He was interrupted from his musings by a figure below him. They were standing next to his bags and shouting up at him. He called back, flew down, and landed gracefully in front of them. “You must be Headmistress Pryde. Good to meet you. Sorry about this-” he looked over his shoulder, “Old habits.”
