Ren is a very physically and verbally affectionate person, absolutely FLOODING his partners with hugs and kisses and compliments. Impulse is pretty receptive to this, though after enough affection he can get fairly flustered and huff about how Ren is too much.

Grian on the other hand is a fucking wreck and Ren had to learn to cool it a bit sometimes or the little bird man would get actually overwhelmed. Grian loves the fact he doesn't need to say much back for Ren to know he's happy about it though.

on the other hand, Ren isn't actually much better at receiving genuine affection. Grian and Impulse will give him head pats and call him handsome and he'll just melt. they think it's adorable because it is.

It isn't love if he's overwhelming his partner to the point he's upset. That's what Ren sticks by! It can be fun occasionally, but only when he can tell Impulse or Grian are actually into and enjoying it.

Grian finds it absolutely hilarious that Ren can handle even less affection than him! He called him cute once and Ren went bright red in the middle of the shopping district. He saw Impulse fix the flower behind Ren's ear and the man sat there with his fingers over the spot for nearly ten minutes!

One of their favourite ways to pass the time, though, is simply holding hands. Grian likes to swing his hands, Ren likes to stroke over knuckles whilst Impulse enjoys a squeeze and a smile. Not too much contact, but enough to know they're each there. They're sharing each other's space. (And Grian can pull them over for kisses whenever he wants.)
