So Nightmist and Sharptooth never planned on actually like, getting into a relationship. They were coworkers and that was it for a while. Nightmist was assigned to quests that Sharptooth was ALSO assigned to, and neither really gave a fuck about it. They were chill, not particularly close, and then they discovered the wonders of Physical Affection!!!! after Sharp got her shit rocked by a Dragon and it fell on Nightmist to tend to her since the handlers were busy with filling reports.

So off Nightmist goes with the sack of healing items set aside specifically for Sharp to find the Wyverian herself licking her wounds. They kinda stare at eachother for a little while before Sharp just kinda rolls over to let Nightmist take note of and tend to her wounds.

Not a single word exchanged through the entire interaction btw. Nightmist just heals up Sharp and then they fall asleep while cuddling. And then there’s palpably something between them and nobody knows how it happened. Literally no lead up, no romantic tension, just sudden affection after one(1) moment of bonding.

Honestly it only happened because Sharptooth is Soft and The Perfect Temperature For Cuddling and Nightmist was fucking exhausted.

I think I’ll make them both Aroacespec. Using the “girlfriend” label because it’s simpler than explaining what the hell is going on between them

Every time Sharptooth gets out of the water she has to resist the urge to shake herself off like a dog because Nightmist HAAAATES it. She still does it because she thinks it’s funny to soak everyone in a 30 ft radius

The woes of having an absolutely humongous girlfriend. Nightmist and Sharptooth have been mistaken for rider and (very runty or young) monstie more than once while working together. Embarrassing for all parties involved.

Whenever Sharptooth talks to Nightmist, she either picks her up or just starts walking on all fours. It’s very rare to see them talking at their regular heights.

The same care is not afforded to anyone else.
