How Osaka’s Stereo Records Keeps Hardcore Dance Alive

Stereo Records has succeeded in preserving music from a time and place that has long passed by.

my man Ian has been doing incredible work documenting, archiving and re-issuing the many sounds of the Japanese hardcore and doujin music scenes (almost everything I know about this stuff I know because of him!), and Bandcamp’s editorial arm has done a write-up about it. it, and the below links are must-reads! give Stereo Records your money. these scenes are responsible for some of my favorite music ever (and of course, this blog’s namesake)
