Honestly, if I see one more confused anti-gun rant (especially from a Sikh) I’m going to explode! Don’t get me wrong, if you have an educated reasoning for being anti guns and have a unique method of disposing of all firearms (along with preventing people from making them at home) then I’m ALL ears.. But wayyyyy too many people are quoting news anchors and government officials.

DO YOU HAVE A MIND OF YOUR OWN? This is the real world! Schools only taught us that that bad kid will go into time out if he hurts us, they didn’t teach us what happens when the bad kid gets parole, purchases an illegal firearm from the black market and comes for our family.

People focus so much on the media stories of Connecticut and Wisconsin, not one guy thought to ask: “but what if just one of the citizens had their own firearm, what if this whole thing could have been prevented.. What if all of those poor people didn’t have to sit and pray for a miracle?” Oh sure, but why do we need self protection? Why can’t we just simply wait for the police like patient and obedient civilised people? Because even ten seconds in a building where your life is under threat can seem like an eternity.

I don’t know about anyone else, but if I was in that situation where a rogue citizen was out to kill me and the people around me, then I would want to have the right and chance to fight for my own life. I don’t want to sit and pray for a man to come and save me. Because he won’t be carrying a freaking light saber or the wrath of god, he’ll have a gun in his hands, and if he can have the right to save me then why am I being denied the right to save myself?

This is a rushed and spontaneous rant which will probably contain many errors and confused ideas but they’re how I feel at the moment.
