These Grind-Your-Own Chicken Shawarma Burgers are a delicious twist on the classic burger, featuring flavorful ground chicken with shawarma-inspired spices. They're perfect for a unique and tasty burger night!
Ingredients: 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tsp ground cumin. 1 tsp ground coriander. 1/2 tsp ground paprika. 1/4 tsp ground turmeric. 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. 1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves, chopped. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 burger buns. Tahini sauce or garlic yogurt sauce for serving. Lettuce, tomato, and red onion slices for garnish.
Instructions: In a food processor, combine the chicken pieces, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground paprika, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and fresh parsley leaves. Pulse the mixture until the chicken is finely ground and the ingredients are well combined. Do not overprocess; you want a slightly textured mixture. Form the chicken mixture into 4 burger patties. Season each patty with salt and pepper. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Grease the grill grates or pan lightly. Grill the chicken shawarma burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks. During the last minute of grilling, toast the burger buns on the grill until they are lightly browned. To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of tahini sauce or garlic yogurt sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a chicken shawarma burger on top of the sauce, then garnish with lettuce, tomato, and red onion slices. Top each burger with the other half of the toasted bun. Serve the Grind-Your-Own Chicken Shawarma Burgers hot and enjoy!
