#MCM: Shawn Nelson (and His Hair)

The Lovesac brand has gone through many changes since we began in 1995. Much like the hair of the man who started it all, and the subject of our #MCM, Shawn Nelson. From the Original Sac and Shawn’s Classic Taper to the 4 trillion combinations of the Sactional and the Shag, some choices worked better than others.

But one thing is certain. It’s been a wild ride since we left the garage.

The Original Lovesac

At 18 years old, Shawn had a silly idea: to make the biggest beanbag chair in the world. Fourteen yards of vinyl and three weeks of experimentation later, the original Lovesac was born.

The Original 2.0 Sac takes its inspiration from — you guessed it — the first Sac made in 1995. The Original 2.0 Sac gives a nod to that Sac’s black and tan design, but in a reversible format: stylish, puffy black quilted nylon on one side, ultra-comfy tan jersey knit on the other. Only 240 Original 2.0 Sacs are available and, like the very first Lovesac, they are proudly sewn by hand and filled with lots of love (and tons of Durafoam).
