@shctupmeg gets The Starter™ ~ Morty & Meg
That thought had been bouncing around Morty's head since when he had woken up that morning, a good hour ahead of his alarm, guts twisting with anxiety. He had been clinging to it, trying to stomp down the temptation to let his nervousness get the best of him. He been stalling for weeks, but no more.
The teen fidgeted with the portal gun for a moment, mentally cursing how sweaty his palms were. He had found the perfect place, gathered everything he would need, picked the right outfit. He had even managed to strike a deal with Rick, to make sure that his grandfather wouldn't interrupt them. He had no reasons left to postpone his plans.
Besides, not only said deal had been a costly one, but he had already told Meg that he would be picking her up. He couldn't chicken out, even if he hadn't told her that it would be a special occasion.
Sucking in a slow breath, he checked his reflection one last time, to make sure that everything was in order. Hair thoroughly combed, sleeveless dark denim vest, yellow shirt with its sleeves neatly rolled up to his elbows, black jeans to match the vest, and black and white converse.
He had debated wearing Rick's choker as he had done on his first "date" with his counterpart, but he had decided against it and picked a leather bracelet instead. He didn't want to push the "rebel boy" vibe too much.
Alright, all set. Time to go.
With one last deep breath, to gather all the confidence he could master, he opened a portal and stepped through it, arriving in front of the main gate of Meg's current house, where they had agreed to meet.
"Uh, h-hey," he greeted, with his best bright smile. Hopefully she would have liked the place. And what he had planned. And his looks. Please. "S-So, ready to go?"
