A messenger delivers a letter to Val, it reads: "You are one of the few Zaunites expressly invited to the Festival of Fire at the Placidium by the express suggestion of the Will of the Blades, we hope you use judgement in who, if anyone, you bring to the event."

‘One of the few Zaunites? Will there be more?’

The letter itself was strange enough but the words–Valentina stared befuddled by the message as she reclined in her seat and scratched her head. Of all nations to invite her to an event, it was one in which her own city-state had helped destroy by the will of their ally, Noxus. Not that Valentina herself had been involved nor cared much for war, but still–

Who was this Will of the Blades who requested her? If they had sent for her, surely they would know who she was--the Queen of Whores, Zaun’s most expensive woman. No matter how she put it, Valentina couldn’t figure out why in all the hells anyone of Ionia would want her to attend a cultural festival. Unless they were in dire need of someone to give them a crash course in escorting, she saw no reason to be invited let alone attend.

However this was a chance she would not get again, she was sure. While her policy had always been not to leave the city as work was so important, there was great temptation in crossing the sea and stepping foot upon land that none of her fellow city-folk would have the pleasure of seeing in their lifetimes.

That, and she was being invited. This was not a vacation... technically. She was to be there as a guest and surely whomever though to send for her had some sort of reason as to why. ‘No, no, not for leisure whatsoever.’

At most she would spend a few days, and if the festival begged for longer she would leave early. ‘Yes, yes...’

Fingers wrapped around the knob of her desk drawer and pulled it open swiftly, the other moving to take some stationary and a pen to respond.

“To whom it may concern...”
