I'm going to hold your hand while I say this; the original wound between the sisters was Mae's inability to let. Osha. Go. Her obsession and need to be with Osha and her inability to become her own person is a Wound that needs Healing to repair their relationship.
Going back to the idea of Twin Flames, whose relationships are typically temporary. They are forever connected, but together, they burn bright and fizzle out. Listen. To. The. Song. The song is from Mae's POV, and she's realizing she needs to stop chasing her sister. That it's not healthy.
The toxicity of Mae's obsession is why the fire happened. In order to heal the wound she created, Mae. Needed. To. Let. Osha. Go. And atone for the damage she caused. Aka the loss of connection between herself and Osha and Osha and the force.
She's literally the only person from the Brendok tragedy who gets to make amends, and she does so by letting her sister go. By letting her make her own choices instead of making demands and threats.
Mae has moved past wanting to possess Osha to just wanting her to be happy.
The bright spot is that they have hope they'll see each other again. And, for now, that's enough for Mae.
