ROBINAVITCH, IT'S ON SIGHT
I love my dog to bits but the older she gets, the more she thinks she needs to occupy the exact same space as I do, which means it is impossible for me to move around in my flat without a Labrador shaped shadow following my every footstep. If she's not right behind me, she'll be standing around a corner, looking at me forlornly. She sits outside the bathroom door so when I open it, it nudges her, and because she's also getting (even) more dramatic with age, being gently bumped by a door makes her look at me like I've told her she's never getting fed again.
She is also unreasonably large for a Lab lady, which means her back is the exact length of an average doorway, and she's tall enough where her back is level with my knees, so if (and when) I walk into her, it's timber for me. Also, if she's laying down and I try to step over her, she will always raise her head at the exact moment my foot is right in front of it, so I accidentally kick her in the face several times a week.
Have any of these rather frequent events deterred her from her valiant efforts at being as close to me as possible 24/7? No. Absolutely not. If anything, she keeps getting closer and closer every day and looking more and more devastated if I kindly ask her to move, just a little. Please. Maybe.
Fuck 😔 that's it my family is in the taxi on their way to the airport officially starting my Big Girl life by myself 😭😭😭

So uh… my sister just caught up in all the Throne of Glass books, and she’s in the first stages of denial.
UPDATE: she grabbed a wine bottle. Smart move sis.
UPDATE 2: holding her hand while she reads the last few pages.
What do you think his interactions with Soraka might be like? She's one of the figures who I think might pity him the most, and possibly the only one who could actually fight against the corruption

I think after he’s given a few decades to find his fucking chill, Varus will eventually attempt to reintegrate into Ionian society; the Elder Council is understandably concerned about having a man walking around with demon pants ( even tho demon accessories are all the rage now lol right kayn ) but he’s also been given the time to properly and normally process his grief. Not that he’ll ever forgive Noxus ( far, far from it ) but he’s not on a murderous rampage anymore either. Operating on the assumption that Soraka knows who Varus is and has been well aware of his suffering since the war, she eventually seeks him out to offer her help. The thing is, Varus is super touchy and he does not, does not like any semblance of pity, and even though she’s just trying to help, Varus is very dismissive of Soraka and is unreasonably angry when he says he doesn’t need anything from her. Being as she’s not a pushy person and she’s quite patient, Soraka doesn’t press the issue.
I think it would take a good few centuries before Varus literally can’t stand another second with Pallas in his mind, and it’s pressing against the borders of his tattoos anyway; he knows that eventually Pallas will overtake him. So, he is the one to go to Soraka now, and ever the wonderful person that she is, she offers her help again no problem.
Just like with anyone that he might attempt to befriend or vice versa, Varus is initially just a very prickly person. He’s reclusive since his family’s death and his own self-disgust makes him unfriendly to the idea of opening up to people. He treats Soraka worse than most because honestly, the idea that she might actually be able to save him scares the crap out of him. And, like I said, he does not want any sort of pity from anyone, ever. It would take a long ass time, but I imagine they go from Soraka tolerating his abrasive ass to Soraka being the person that finally allows Varus to heal, both body and soul.
