OK, lost "ask". I basically said that I was a Destiel shipper, in my forties (cough), who found your blog because of your meta on that subject. That I don't always agree with you, but always enjoy reading your viewpoint, because reading differing viewpoints presented civilly is always a pleasure. I'm often not familiar with what you're talking about (like anime), but I've appreciated being exposed to it. I also will go to my grave thinking that I expressed this better the first time. :)
Oh, this is an extremely lovely comment! Thank you for resending. And now I'm especially glad that you took a chance on the Raven Cycle anyway, and would love to hear your thoughts as someone who's more removed from their age group if you don't mind sharing! :)
pt2 Anyway, been ignoring your Raven Boys recommendation because I figured it wasn't for me; I figured our areas of interest didn't intersect here. At work on Friday (I work in Receiving at a Barnes & Noble) I was sorting out a copy of this book, and I went "hmm maybe"; I didn't have anything to read this weekend. I'm so glad I bought it! It's beautifully written and I'm so curious to see how it turns out. I wouldn't have bought it if not for you. Thanks!
I lost the first part to this! Please do resend. But very glad to hear you enjoyed it! Second book is even better.
