                  CONFLICTING  IMPULSES .    mind  that  knows  better ,     knows  she  isn’t  to  be  trusted ,    and  body  that  reacts  in  the  same  kind  of  resentment .    racing  heart ,     shaking  palms ,     furrowed  brows    :     all  indicators  that ,     yes ,     what  burns  in  me  is  hatred .     

                   YET  STILL  THERE  IS  THE  HEART  that  aches  all  the  same in  something  like  sympathy .     heart  that  aches  for  home    &    his  friends    &    his  family    &    his  julia    —  &  oh ,    god ,     julia ,     &    he’s  back  to  that  burning  hatred  again .    back  to  hands  that  clench  in  fists  to  control  the  shaking  as  they  come  down  hard ,     FAST  onto  wooden  table  before  them  to  spit  reply .     ❛     you  took  everything  from  me .    my  wife    &    my  frie    —   my  family .     you  don’t  get  to  sit  there    &    talk  to  me  like  nothing  happened ,    like  you're  fucking  innocent   !     FUCK  this .    fuck  you .     ❜     underlying  truth    :     i  don’t  want  to  die  here  alone .    please  don’t  leave  me  to  rot .
