Gloworm Festival Clumber Park

So this weekend sees the ultra child friendly Gloworm Festival at Clumber Park in Worksop, S80. I personally love Clumber Park for obvious reasons and its perfect with children. I am also so happy that the north are working to use some of the beautiful spaces we have for a variety of things other than walking. I’m sure many people thought Michael Eavis was crazy for Glasto too. 

We are yet to be able to compare the two festivals but maybe one day. Look at Camp Bestival. But, here’s why I pick Camp Bestival even though this one is so local and costs substantially less.

Tribute bands? At first you spot The Killers and Kasabian. But cheekily on the website they do not make it obvious it is a tribute, you have to be an eagle eye and realise that these names are spelt with a ‘z’ rather than and ‘s’. I wonder how many people have bought tickets in hopes of seeing the ‘s’ but will be getting the ‘z’. Not a cool move. I would rather see up and coming artists of different genres...Give me something to go home and soundcloud. Intrigue me. Excite me. 

What about us parents? I get it, we had a baby and society tells us we must always satisfy the needs of our child but quite frankly when we would be paying £52.25 (inc booking fee) per adult for a weekend ticket or £27.50 (inc booking fee) for a day. I’d like to know what I am getting other than my child’s happiness (the happiness which she gets from spinning around in a circle, she's 2). That is an expensive weekend for people like S Club and The Chuckle Brothers. Plus S Club was the 90′s generation...What 1-8 year old knows about them? I’d like to keep that in the past and away from my child’s current influential earlobes. 

Its meant to be raining! Unfair to blame the festival but its my opinion Post Man Pat with not attract the parents to a rainy weekend festival at total ticket cost of over £100.

I say a massive good luck to Gloworm Festival and this is 100% positive feedback at a first glance/social media stalk. Maybe this will help for next year....and maybe I will be first in line. Who knows.

On Monday's we head to #eissheffield to do Athletots. 18months upwards you can get your toddlers out and about running around the track, hurdling and throwing balls/javelin (all baby friendly and sponge). We love it and makes for an exhausted but happy little human! Recommend for any parents stuck for an afternoon activity. So...Monday 14th sees the latest addition to #kelhamisland Stew & Oyster!! Up until recently it has been shrouded by the construction of #littlekelham Citu developments but it's now arrived and visible. It's looking good with a definite relaxed feel!! Spending an hour doing this because she didn't want to do anything else.
