LOG TOSS: KJELLE VS VAIKE
“Our first caber tossing of the day! How exciting th-- Oh, Sir Vaike has elected to wear a kilt. That’s quite of the spirit.”

Vaike
Round 1: NAT 20!
Vaike, kilt billowing in the breeze, grins confidently at the audience and flexes for them. This seems to get the audience riled and they cheer for the showmanship. They cheer even harder, though, when Vaike grabs his first log and tosses it perfectly into the air, sending the massive hunk of wood flying across the arena and landing perfectly on its top, wobbling but standing up straight, against all logic and odds!
Round 2: +2
Round 3: +2 (FAVOR bonus)
Vaike takes inspiration from the people already cheering him on and perhaps rushes a bit to throw his next tow logs. Each one lands about halfway across the measured space, giving him a good, consistent method.
Round 4: +4 (trick-or-treat HAWTHORNE bonus)
Round 5: +1
Trying to impress once again, Vaike then grabs his fourth caber and spins with it, getting a dramatic amount of forward momentum into his throw. The audience goes wild in excitement, watching the log fly. But this dramatic move makes Vaike winded and he gulps for air before he throws his last log, this one notably less powerful of a toss than his previous ones.

“Sir Vaike has certainly set a mark with such theatrics, but he’s done a good job, don’t you think? Kjelle is more than capable, of course, she will do splendidly, I’m sure.”
“It might come down to flair vs practicality... We had a few matches like that in the fliers bracket last time, though it was difficult to say which approach was better. Who knows; Kjelle might surprise us anyway.”

Round 1: +4 (FAVOR bonus)
Round 2: +1 (ELM bonus)
Kjelle is not wearing a kilt, perhaps a good choice, but as she prepares for her first throw, she takes hold of the wooden sword she brought as a favor. Giving it a pat before setting it safely to the side, Kjelle tosses her first log with nearly perfect form, sending it flying far across the arena. The audience cheers, even as her second toss doesn’t go as far, they are still chanting for the young princess.
Round 3: MISS
Round 4: MISS
Unfortunately, the strong winds blow some leaves and pollen into Kjelle’s face, which sets her aim off as she tosses her next log. While it throws quite far, it is thrown far off center and doesn’t land in the allotted track, making it a missed throw. A bit distracted by this, Kjelle’s fourth throw is fumbled and she drops the log before getting to throw it, another miss.
Round 5: +1
She had a rough middle, but Kjelle pulls through. The audience still cheers for her proudly as she tosses her final log with proper technique.

"Hey, don’t look down - you just got a little bit unlucky in the middle. We do have to award the win to Vaike, however - see you in the next round!”
