well  this  was  just  a  cruel  twist  of  fate.  while  ace  knew  they  wouldn’t  be  here  long,  fully  trusting  someone  else  to  take  care  of  the  finer  details  to  get  them  out  of  this  windowless  box-  not  windowless  actually.  the  glass  in  front  of  them  wasn’t  just  a  mirror  for  show,  they  knew  the  room  on  the  other  side  was  packed  with  agents  looking  to  put  them  in  a  single  cell  for  the  rest  of  their  life.  that  thought  makes  them  laugh  a  little.  it’s  when  the  door  opens  and  a  very  familiar  face  walks  in  that  ace’s  laughter  dies.  “well  shit.”

@shegun​ gets a dark thing uwu

          the stench of blood and death clings to him. he doesn’t like the way it smells. he always scrubs it off, always erases any hint of it from his skin. it isn’t like he enjoys doing this. but he has to. someone has to, right?  it isn’t like she can’t take care of herself. he knows she can. god does he know how strong she is. she’s brave. but she shouldn’t have to be. someone should be there for her and that someone can be him. he just had not intended for her to ever know that. he wasn’t planning on letting her see him, especially not when he has to do such tasteless things. but, her life was at risk and scum like that should be killed. not put behind bars where they could walk free again anyway. 

emil stands now over the corpse, hidden in the shadow of wall buildings and heavy rain clouds. he should turn and run but she’s looking at him. and it makes him feel immobile. umber hues look down at the dead body and then back up at juliette. he is both worried and curious about what she’ll do. she’s a woman of the law and what he does is very illegal. he just ruined her case. he shouldn’t be so fascinated to see her response, but he is. she’s seen him and it’s too late to go back. now he just wonders what she will do about it.

it had been a while since natasha was at headquarters, having been out on several missions for fury. she’d been out on her own as well, doing missions that she’d found by herself to get extra money. she’d loved working for SHIELD ------ it got her out of her past that she’d rather keep behind her, but it didn’t pay well. working around SHIELD’s radar wasn’t easy, but she did it. walking down the hall, she looked up and smiled slightly when she saw juliette down the hall. “hey.” natasha said, moving slightly more towards her. “you around headquarters for a while? or is this one of those ‘sorry, gotta run off on a mission’ kind of meetings where we don’t see each other again for weeks?”

 A  BROW  IS  ARCHED  TOWARDS  his  hairline  in  scepticism.  "Tell  me  about  it,  looks  like  we're  trying  to  understand  my  brain."  Making  self-deprecating  gags  about  lack  of  memory  had  become  a  practice  for  Samuel.  At  least  it  made  the  situation  less  frustrating.  "I  think  we  deserve  a  break."

             her voice draws his attention away from the floor he was staring rather hard at. head lifts and his umber hues turn towards juliette’s with a touch of uncertainty in them. he still isn’t used to having someone. he isn’t used to being allowed to be vulnerable or simply just human. his heart bleeds so strongly  (  is that not what led him here in the first place? the way his soul feels far too much.  )  and all he has ever earned for it is scars. well, that and her. he knows everyone else would see his fondness of his previous mark as a weakness but he could hardly call it that. not when she makes him feel stronger just by looking at her. 

eyes water the longer they stay locked on jules. he hasn’t been fine for a long time. head shakes and he whispers it hoarsely  “  i can’t remember the last time i felt okay.  ”  he has had to be fine. even when he isn’t. he just keeps going because there is no other choice. he lives in a state of disquiet, of a perturbed and aching soul that longs for just a moment of peace. the closest he feels to serenity is when she’s there.  “  it’s calmer when i’m with you,  ”  he admits after a moment, offering a small smile as he reaches out to take her hand. maybe that’s the most he can ask for. the ability to breathe a little easier. to see a little light in all the darkness. she gives him that and maybe that’s enough.
