This Week's Traveling Spirit is Grateful Shell Collector from Season of Sanctuary
It is a regular spirit that will give you a hair and a cape.
Price
This price is an estimate so it may be more or less, but it should be 117 candles, 13 hearts, and 2 AC. This is without the chair that will be added as a prop, which is 45 candles. This will make it 162 candles.
Items
This spirit contains a hair and a cape.
The hair is a short one that almost covers both eyes, with small spots in between parts of the hair and a small piece sticking up out of it. This is supposed to be 34 candles.
The cape is a light pink that fades into a darker pink at the bottom. It has almost white strips on the bottom, much like how a vanilla cape has slits in it and the cape is shaped like three petals. It's meant to represent a shell. This is supposed to be 70 candles.
There will be a heart for 3 candles.
Extra: Prop
This traveling spirit will also contain a prop. It is a chair, one much like the ones you find in Sanctuary Islands. You can place it to sit and talk to one person. This will cost 45 candles.
Action
The Grateful Shell Collector is a normal action, so it will have 4 levels.
Level 1: You will put your hands up to your cheeks, as if gasping, before putting them together in front of you. You will shake them a couple of times in respect while bowing your head.
Level 2: You will do the same as in level 1, except a heart will appear above your head while you put your hands on your cheeks. When you shake your hands, sparkles will fall from them.
Level 3: You will put your hands together against your chest while you lean forward to the left. Your body will shift to the right and turn slightly in either direction before you almost stand up straight again. The action will end with you leaning forward and putting your arms out, then to the sides.
Level 4: You will do the same as level 3, except hearts and sparkles will come from you throughout the action.
Location
You will go to Sanctuary Islands in Prairie.
Fly down to the cave with the waterfall in it.
You will find the Spirit on the edge of the tunnel in the side.
When you light it, it will lead you up, through another tunnel, and out to the geyser on the beach. The statue will be found there.
Showing off my shell collection!
(Sadly many of the shells have been discolored because of the bleach😞 but I still want to share it with you guys!)
First we have the tiny ones!
Second off we have the twisty ones!
(The one on the top left is my pride and joy and I’m so happy it wasn’t hurt by the bleach)
I had to split the medium sized ones up (there’s so many) but yeah!
(The top 2 are actually very large)
Now we have the shards!
(The bottom 3 got discolored 😡)
And last but it not least, things that aren’t shells but are really cool nonetheless
(The coral has an ugly black oil stain on it but the bleach actually got that out! So at least it wasn’t a total loss)
So that’s it! I may throw some out because I have lots of repeats but I am really happy with my collection so far!
How to get pretty/ complete shells:
a guide by a floridian sand gremlin
WEAR SUNSCREEN!!!
Start in the sand before the shoreline, there’s a lot of broken shells there, they’re can be really pretty shards in there (you can do this while waiting for the sunscreen to soak up) wear shoes or sandals if they hurt your feet too much.
if you like a shell, grab it. It doesn’t matter if it’s small or broken, or covered in barnacles and worn down with holes. There is no such thing as an “ugly shell” so go crazy!
After the sunscreen has soaked in, and if the water is clear enough, wade to about knee-thigh height and squint as best you can to see what’s at the bottom. The waves are just something you have to deal with, look for half buried objects and tread carefully (sting-ray shuffle if your a floridian). If you see something grab it. You can also put on goggles and stick your head in the water to find things.
Make sure you don’t stay in the same place twice, pick a direction and wade/walk through a bit. But don’t stay there.
Stay close to the shore of the waves are especially large (California). Don’t risk our life for the sake of a shell.
(This doesn’t always work) but you can go deeper, just use goggles and stay low to the bottom like a sting-ray, dig around and pick up things you like (mostly shards, leave the crabs and fish alone)
Take breaks, if you find that your not finding anything good, go back and sit in the shade and drink water, if you live in a colder place, wrap yourself up for a bit. Make sure to reapply sunscreen and eat something too! Take stock of how many shells you have collected, and maybe even start identifying them!
Make sure to show people what you find! There’s so much validation in seeing your friends gawk at the shell you found.
Make sure to clean your shells!!! I made the mistake of just sticking them in jars when I got home WITHOUT CLEANING THEM, and they stink...so make sure you use water and bleach and clean those suckers good.
I hope this was helpful! These are some tips that just help me find good shells, and just today I found a completed (and connected) common cockle clam!
Lots of sea shells 🐚 🩷✨️
And What If I Don't Want To Stand Outside What If I Want To Lie Down What If I Want To Be Underneath Every Blanket I Own Or What If I Don't Want To Meet Anyone's Gaze For Fear That They Will See That I Am Essentially Just One Of Those Shells You Pick Up From The Beach And Forget About And Eventually You're Like What Do I Do With This It's Pretty But I Don't Feel Like Packing It When I Move But I Can't Just Put It In The Trash Either, Can I?
My bones are wet but my skin is dry and I wish it were the opposite but I'm not much in control of that, like a lot of things. If I keep grasping at air eventually there will be something to hold on to, right? Someone will pass by and see me waving my hands around and they'll pity/recognize me as a human being, openly asking for something to touch and they'll dig through their pockets and find whatever is there lint/a coin/folded up receipt and they'll put it where eventually I can reach it. If I take it do I release everything else? Will no one else stop by? Will people stop offering me things? I'd prefer a hand or an arm or a face. I believe that beggars can be choosers. Will I allow myself that same privilege?
My collection is growing nicely. Shells, coral and some pebbles. 🐚
