Private William Coder, Company F, 106th Pennsylvania volunteers, shows damage to his maxillary bone and jaw as a result of a wound received on August 25th, 1864 at the Battle of Weldon Railroad, Virginia. Attended by Dr. J.C. McKee. Caption reads: “Shell wound, portion of body of lower jaw carried away. Pvt. Wm Coder 106th Pa.”
